Man City using NYCFC as a testing ground

Figured this would coming. Vieira has been receiving interest from other clubs and they don't want him out of the system.

I feel bad for Kreis. City lite was his baby. He's totally getting shafted. At least he can jump in and manage the USMNT when Jurgen gets fired after we struggle through qualifying. Wishful thinking.

Kreis sucks as a manager. With that squad, NYCFC should have easily made the playoffs. They played like hot garbage at times.

Yeah. He took a screwing.

How many first year teams "easily" make the playoffs? He didn't have Pirlo or Lampard til half way through the season and has dealt with a lot of injuries.

Answer my question. How many first year teams easily make the playoffs? Orlando didn't either. I get the feeling that Kreis was promised certain things by city group that went out the window when city decided they wanted to keep Vieira.

You and I both know that's not going to happen.

Homey and east nasty are both shirking the question.

On the top of my head, we have Chicago Fire, Houston Dynamo, and Seattle Sounders to make playoffs. But, none of them had full DP allocation that Kreis had. NYCFC shat the bed.

Chicago is the bottom of the table, and Houston will not qualify. They finished 8th in the Western Conference. San Jose might make it and they don't have any big names at all.

Earlier in the year it seemed like he was wanting the club to go in a different direction when it came to signing DP's. I wonder how much this played a role it him being let go.

Dude you totally missed the point here. We are talking about expansion teams first year.

I see what you're getting at now. Houston was a bit of unique situation as it didn't have to build a team from scratch. NYCFC played a lot better as the year went on though. They dug themselves in a hole early with 8 or 9 winless straight.

Kreis didn't get much say in his DP choices. If he had, I promise you Lampard and Pirlo would not be in NY right now.
