This thread won't prevent that if we have any success.

If y'all don't think this one is sticky worthy then go ahead and request it to be removed. It doesn't seem like this thread is going to garner the amount of traffic I thought it would but maybe it will pick up once we start playing.

Yeah I had forgotten that it was Ghana that Uruguay beat in the quarters in 2010.

So the lowest ranked team in our group was a goal-stopping handball away from being a semifinalist in 2010.
And they have 6 or 7 guys back from that team.

I feel good about our chances to advance as long as we don't lose to Ghana. Drawing is OK. The real game that matters for us is Portugal. We have to win that one IMO to advance. Ghana is strong and are just as capable of beating Portugal/drawing Germany as we are.

If I had it my way, I would hope Ghana and USA advance from our group. frick Germany and Portugal, and Europe

ESPN flashing a stat on their ticker that says Dempsey and Bradley are the only 2 people on the squad to score in a World Cup. I'm not doing any research but I imagine there are a few teams that only have 2 guys on their team that have scored in a World Cup.

Bosnia and Herzegovina do not have anyone who has scored a goal.

It seems to me like the media has been nothing but negative toward our team. Yeah we got a tough group and yeah Landon got left off, but we got some pretty talented guys on the team I think and we're playing some decent ball right now.

The Men in Blazers are the only media people being positive and their English (albeit honorary Americans).

Ronaldo left practice early with an ice pack on his knee today. Although he did do some stretches.

From the guardian:

quote:

Cristiano Ronaldo cut short a training session with Portugal on Thursday, and was forced to leave the field with an ice pack over his left knee indicating that his tendinitis may still be bothering the Real Madrid forward.

Ronaldo trained with the rest of the team for about 15 to 20 minutes, doing physical exercises, but then did not take part in the rest of the session with full ball drills. Instead, the 29-year-old stretched on his own and signed replica shirts for fans before going to sit on the bench.

The former Manchester United talisman has been bothered by injuries to his left leg in the lead-up to the World Cup, and was on the sidelines for two weeks with tendinitis in the knee and a thigh problem.

Portugal kick off their Group G campaign on Monday teatime when they take on Germany in Salvador.

T-shirt under shirt is NF but that TH shirt is nice.

I prefer his more contemporary choices of clothing.

USMNT support in Natal overwhelming. Proud night for @ussoccer. Making South Africa look like company picnic.

I think they're away so that would mean the bomb pops.

I don't want to be overly optimistic or anything but guys, I think we're gonna win this one.
