We are carrying two streaks into the game: a 23-0-2 record in Gold Cup group play and a 13-game unbeaten streak against Canada (7-0-6) in all competitions since 1985.

OK, so no brown streak in the boxers then. Amirite?

In the 2007 Gold Cup, it took a debatable offsides call for us to squeak past Canada in the semis.

In fact, it was (wait for it......) a giveaway in the middle of the field, followed by a defensive lapse that almost fricked us over.

Both teams are vastly improved now, and the US *should* be fine this time around, but they need to have their shite together and not sleepwalk in the first half.

Shaky offsides

Hour-long condensed match, if you get bored today.

If we score anything less than 4 goals, I'm going to be severely disappointed.

Agudelo for Golden boot.

I think we'll stay in a 4-4-2, my first choice 11 would be...

-------Altidore-----Agudelo----------

Dempsey--Bradley----Jones----Donovan

Lichaj--Bocanegra--Goodson---Cherundolo

---------------Howard------------------

I'm done with Gooch for now, though I could definitely see Bob leaving Lichaj on the bench and pushing Bocanegra out wide.

I agree with you but unfortunately I do not see Bradley leaving Gooch off of the pitch to start.

Bornstein-Bocanegra-Gooch-Cherundolo.

I'd almost be willing to put money on it.

If Gooch starts, I will tweeze my pubes individually in protest. Not just the pelvic ones too. I'm talking balls and all.

I wouldn't bet against it.

Bornstein must be a practice superstar.

Maybe the staff feels like they should play Gooch against these lesser opponents, and hope he regains form by the knockout stage.
