Yea, it's sad but I think Davies is done for. It's remarkable that he is still playing professional sports. I just don't know how much is left in the tank. One of my favorite players for the US.
He just needs to go back to MLS, and get back to enjoying soccer again, unless he enjoys not making the substitutes bench for a relegation zone Ligue 1 team. I really though Bob was close to giving Davies another look, if he would have survived after the Gold Cup debacle. He's worth a look if he regains his incredible confidence.

frick. Tim Chander. Even if he swings back to the US, I'm not sure he will have many fans outside of the casual fans.
Told you bitches so.
On the other hand, he could still be a big time player for us, if Germany doesn't call. I'll forgive him as long as he plays well.

I think if he hadn't had that hamstring(?) injury the week before the Gold Cup roster was announced, I think he makes the squad.
He started last MLS season VERY well.

Are we sure the Scotland game is on NBC Sports? My guide showed a hockey game on there Saturday night.

Only if the Kings series goes to 7 games, I believe.

Ah. Well I hope there is a backup plan for the US game is so. I give zero fricks about hockey.

My guide shows "International Soccer" at 7 p.m. on Saturday.

Depending on which side of the field the cameras are on, you could be looking at me the whole match.
I wanted to go by Bass Pro to get one of these to wear....
....but the wife shot it down.

That would look great with an American flag bandana Kid Rock style. Do it. Do it.

I *think* we're on the same side as the press box.
Won't know until we get there.

I was in Nuremberg today and prayed I would wander across Chandler and convince him in the nicest way possible to keep playing for the US.
Oh, and did you know that their stadium was used by the Nazis for Hitler Youth rallies?

Nurnberg was maybe my 2nd favorite German city. Imperial castle ftw
Posted on 5/21/12 at 2:38 pm to Tweezy
The remains of the Nazi parade grounds were fascinating to me.

I've seen old pictures of these. Weren't the ones in Nuremberg one of their primary Nazi parade grounds? Speer did some great architecture there iirc
Posted on 5/21/12 at 2:48 pm to BobLoblaw
Yep hitler admired the city for it's past (imperial castle) and thought of the nurnbergers as ideal Germans, he put most of the party rally grounds in nurnberg along with zeppelin field. If you have a chance I reccomend the nazi documentation center, it's right across the water from zeppelin field and I spent 4 and half hours there.

Yeah, I did a super fast version in about one hour and twenty minutes. But yeah, documentation center is a must see. There isn't really a lot to look at there as far as artifacts, which was a bit disappointing, but the movies and presentations they have there are informative.
And yeah, the Nazis had all of their major rallies there starting from 1927 on. The size of these buildings (and what he had planned) was awesome.
Speer's architecture was... interesting. I think it served its purpose wonderfully (make you feel small, make the leaders of the movement and the movement itself seem grand), and the buildings are certainly impressive. It's cool to look at but it's a bit hard to admire it completely when you realize what it stood for.

He just needs to go back to MLS
I agree 100%. I wouldn't mind him going back to Hammarby either. They loved him and Berhalter would sign him.
As for the MLS, DCU was a good fit for him at the time. Since he is from the region and had a lot of emotional ties to DC. I know the majority of his goals were PKs BUT he was getting playing time.

Hammarby are in the second division now. MLS would be a better move for Charlie until he is like, 28 or so. Then he should try going back to Europe, if he can still play.
