They are saying he won't be I the first camp not any wcq camp, I don't know I suppose we will see in the next hour or two. I think brek has the possibility of being left out, we shall see

I'm impartial to Brek Shea, at this point.
JK loves the kid and he is talented, but his form isn't the best at the moment.

Yeah I agree, him and terrance Boyd are my two favorite young talents right now. Brek has looked tired but JK loves having him in the side. I feel like the roster should be released already

Wondo is a stone cold lock. Especially if Jozy is left off.
Posted on 5/20/12 at 3:08 pm to UASports23
Jozy included but not arriving until may 28th
Eta super pumped for herc, think this could be a sweet roster. I'm skeptical wether Landon and Clint will actually be up top, but JK will figure it out

Lichaj and Kljestan are the two big snubs for me.
Alfredo Morales doesn't deserve it more than Lichaj. and Beckerman doesn't deserve it as much as Kljestan.
Especially when you have Bradley/Jones on the roster. No need for Beckerman.

I've heard lichaj and klesjtian have had good seasons but I don't get to watch enough of their games to be legitimately mad they didn't make it. Interested to see morales though

Lichaj is coming off an injury and has done well.
Kljestan just helped win their league title.
Our roster is reallly thin at the wings. Also, I just saw that someone spoke with Tim Ream and Klinnsmann told him that he wanted Ream to get some rest and that's why he wasn't called up.

what does the starting 11 look like for saturday?
Posted on 5/20/12 at 3:27 pm to fightingtigers98
here is some other quotes:
quote:
On some of the newer MLS players who have earned the opportunity to be called in:
“Graham Zusi left a very strong impression in the January camp. Geoff Cameron is a guy that is really knocking at the door, with a very strong January camp but also very strong performances for Houston. You have Chris Wondolowski who is scoring and scoring. This is what he loves to do and his attitude and his spirit is just great for a team to have.”
quote:
On Juan Agudelo and his situation:
“We have Juan Agudelo coming in after a difficult first part of the season for him, not qualifying for the Olympics, struggling with an injury, and now with the trade to Chivas USA that we hope gives him a lift because he couldn’t pass by Thierry Henry and Kenny Cooper at the Red Bulls. He has an opportunity now, and we want him to grab it and make clear to everyone that he deserves to be a starter no matter where he plays.”
quote:
On Brek Shea:
“We have watched Brek during the last few months, and given his performances and some of the other issues we felt he should be on the standby list. He’s still a young player with a lot of talent, and also a lot to learn.”

I'd like to see this:
----------------Howard----------------
Dolo -----Bocanegra---Onyewu----Parkhurst
---------------Bradley-----------------
Donovan------------------------Johnson
--------------Dempsey----------------
-------Boyd-------------Gomez----------
or move Dempsey to FW, take Boyd out, and put Torres in CAM.

I'd be SHOCKED if Torres, Castillo and Beckerman are brought in and don't start.

They still have to make a cut, as well.
I'd love to see Bradley/Jones/Torres on the pitch at the same time. I think that is way to much defensive mids but they are some of our best tech. players.

Its not like we have a wealth of talent or anything but I feel like all of our players are equally talented, or at least it seems like the midfield is that way

double post. May 28th is the cut date ?

Jones and Bradley are a step above the rest.
Also, Morales over Lichaj is bullshite. Morales isn't starting for a relegated team in the Bundesliga and Lichaj is playing 90 minutes every game in the PL.
Sacha got screwed too, but he was very unimpressive during his cameo against Italy.
Posted on 5/20/12 at 5:14 pm to cwil177
I agree completely about lichaj, but I'd rather Adu than beckerdreads or sacha
Posted on 5/20/12 at 5:18 pm to cwil177
I would have been shocked to see Beckerman left off. Klinnsman loves him. In fact, I think you have to assume he'll be a starter, although maybe Edu and Bradley's performance against Italy might get him to change his mind. Regardless, I assume Bradley's back to being a regular starter, its just a matter of who he's paired with.
I like Brek, he has potential, etc., but really he hasn't had many good performances for the national team. Its not really that shocking.
I don't get the Lichaj thing, but I don't know anything at all about Morales.

Canaries cut Whitbread.
ETA: My ideal formation for WCQs would be this:
----------------Howard----------------
Dolo -----Bocanegra---Onyewu----Parkhurst
----------Bradley-------Jones----------
Torres---------Dempsey----------Donovan
---------------Altidore----------------
SUBS: Guzan, Goodson, Castillo, Edu, Gomez, Johnson
However, Altidore always does better playing with another striker and Herc is on pretty good form. So the 4-1-2-1 -2 formation with Herc and Altidore paired up. Makes sense too.
Just depends on how we are going to play. Defensively and from a technical ability. I think the 4-2-3-1 would be a very good fit. We love to play Counter attacking football, anyways. You'd have two deep ball specialists and high motor guys in the back of the midfield that'd be able to start all kinds of counters and movement out of the back of the midfield.
