Must win game if we want an outside shot at Europe and we start winks. Ndombele and Lo Celso aren’t even in the squad. Cool

I don’t care what Winks does in training. He has not had a game in 2 years that would warrant his place in the starting 11. This is absolutely insane. He offers absolutely nothing on the pitch.

There's no way Mason is making this lineup and I will not be convinced otherwise

Great to see that Sanchez still sucks

Sanchez is absolutely abysmal. I would pay money to never have to watch him or Winks play again. That lackluster leg sweep by Toby in the first half was amateur hour. This team doesn’t give a shite. I hope Kane put a transfer request in at halftime.

Agreed, but that was a shite call on Sanchez. Vardy locked his arm around Sanchez and then did the Superman leap to get the PK.

Regardless, this is going to be a brutal offseason with Kane leaving. I guess it’s possible Bale tries to come back for another season. I think that depends on the manager that comes in. With Kane and Jose gone, I think he’d definitely see the pitch more. We need a complete rebuild of the back line and aren’t going to spend the funds to do so.

I wonder if the bookies place odds on how little Levy will spend this offseason.

If Kane leaves Levy absolutely has to bring Bale back just so when the fans come back next year they don't riot in the stands

Once the Kane saga ends and we know the amount of funds we have to spend then I think we have a ton of different directions we can go

I agree that was a terrible call, but he couldn’t even make a proper clearance all game. He sliced everything out of bounds.

This summer is going to be terrible but I hope they do the right thing and find a resolution with Kane leaving. He has given every to this club and has no business playing in a 3rd tier European competition.

I’m all in on a proper rebuild. We need a director of football and a manager with a clear philosophy for how he wants to set up and play.

If Kane goes to city I would like to see Ake involved coming to Spurs. Then use the rest of the funds to buy another CB and a creative midfielder like Grealish.

COYS!

Already a thread on this but...

Fabrizio Romano @FabrizioRomano Exclusive. Zinedine Zidane has decided to LEAVE Real Madrid with immediate effect.

Hopefully that doesn’t give Bale hope to stay in Madrid

Zidane Spurs lock.

And good for foyth. I feel like he never really got a fair shake at Tottenham. He’d just randomly get thrown into matches without any real consistency. He definitely made some big mistakes, and then you wouldn’t see him for weeks. I wanted him to go out on loan a long time ago. I’m not sure what his contract is like at Spurs, or the terms of his loan (Villarreal might have an option to buy), but I wouldn’t mind him coming back.

Sky Sports: Spurs in talks to bring back Pochettino

Don’t do this to me. My heart can’t take it.

I really don't want to bring Poch back right now.

I think some people forget how bad the play was under him in his last months. It was worse than Mourinho in my opinion. Spurs were relying on Nkoudu to Winks headers to beat Fulham in the last minutes.

Yeah I absolutely agree with that IF Levy doesn’t plan on shipping out all the dead weight. If he’s just planning on using Pochettino as a sort of bandaid instead of moving out the dead weight, and as an enticement to keep Kane, then I think it would be a bad move for everyone. But if Levy is planning on moving out the old guard, and starting fresh, I would love for Pochettino to be there to oversee that. Certainly more than any other manager I’ve seen linked to the job so far.

Also, Pochettino knew the club needed a rebuild, as he stated in that interview with Gary Lineker. You have to hope that before he even thinks of coming back he’d get some assurances from Levy on buying/selling players. If Levy thinks just adding Pochettino to this current squad will magically fix things, it won’t.

ETA: if this move did somehow happen I’d love to see the amount of money Levy has wasted on Pochettino buyout, then Mourinho’s contract and buyout, to buying Pochettino back.

So...here we go

BBC Sport: Tottenham contact former manager over return

quote:

Tottenham have made contact with former manager Mauricio Pochettino about a return to the club. The 49-year-old Argentine, who was sacked by Spurs in November 2019 after five years in charge, took over at Paris St-Germain in January.

Edit: My bad Phil I saw you already posted. Well I think it’s a last ditch effort to get Kane to stay. Perhaps give Poch the proper funds to bring his people in. Andersen, Skriniar, Sabitzer, and a back up striker could get us back in business
