Looks like Madrid has joined the Poch stakes.

Welp, it was fun while it lasted. A boy can dream though.

Pretty sure all the fans are in for a rebuild. The problem is that the people that control that will not want to spend the £ to do so.

Serge Aurier making it very clear in his latest L'Equipe interview that he wants to leave Tottenham, has come to the 'end of a cycle' and it's time to look elsewhere, and he does not intend to sign any new contract the club might offer.
Welp Serge is gone. Might be time to start a new season thread if fireworks go down before the Euros

I honestly thought Levy had a plan when he sacked Mourinho days before a final. I was wrong. Here we are almost 1 week away from transfers opening up and he has no clue. We have no manager and no plan for what kind of team we need to build. Levy and Hitchens have bottled things once again and this team is going to suffer from it. I wish I could be this bad at my job and never have to worry about being fired.

It really is impressive just how badly they manage everything on the football side of things.

I used to think this, but I've learned my lesson. How is this guy still employed?
Posted on 5/31/21 at 4:51 pm to ShrevetownTiger
Because he's also part owner

I know :(, I would have fired myself if I was that bad.

Indeed, the development could see at least one Manchester City player heading to Tottenham as part of a deal for Harry Kane. The north London club are known to be keen on both Gabriel Jesus and Nathan Ake

I'd take Ake + cash.
Wouldn't be totally opposed to trying to roll with him and Rodon going forward.
May be some growing pains there, however.

I wouldn't be opposed to this either. At this point, all I'm asking is for ENIC to decide what kind of approach they want to take to build a squad. I honestly think that the majority of the decline over the last couple of years is due to trying to straddle both sides of the line. We don't want to be perceived as a selling club, but we also don't show the willingness to spend what it takes to improve the squad. The latter is fine, but I don't think you can have it both ways and I think our results reflect that. Instead of holding Eriksen until the very last second and limiting what we would get for him in the market, we could have sold him when his value was higher(e.g: Coutinho) and spent the funds on new squad players and academy players. I have not been a fan of Spurs for nearly long enough to have a good pulse on the rest of the fanbase, but my opinion is that Spurs fans, in general, don't expect this club to be splashing cash like Barca, Real, City, ManU, PSG, etc. I don't think anyone grew up watching Spurs or has been recently attracted to them because of their transfer activity. Squads all over Europe compete for trophies and UCL every year without being the biggest spenders in their leagues. The difference is they prioritize recruitment, development, and a system that cascades all the way down the organization. That is our best path to trophies IMO.

Looks like Conte is in the lead at the moment per BBC Sports

Conte's blowup after joining Spurs with the guarantee of Kane staying, only for Levy to sell him to a rival a few weeks later, will be legendary.

It’s hard for me to get excited for any manager not named “Poch” right now. I just feel like these managers like Conte and Mourinho go in based on promises from Levy that won't be kept and don't really understand what they're getting into. At least Poch knows how much of a tightwad Levy is.

I'm the opposite. I really do not want Poch back at Spurs (at this point in time).
I think Conte is different than Mourinho, but it will still end in chaos in 2-3 years time.
Give me Potter or ETH at this point and I'm satisfied. Just get somebody in before the transfer window opens.
