I think its partly click bait since the fanbase is unhappy right now.
But I do think there is interest as well - enough interest for a legitimate bid? Who knows?
I think we are on our way to competing financially - when the stadium is done we'll be close. But we can't offer London. We are behind in terms of CL forerunner, and, as you said, its an uphill climb. It will take a great manager to take us there, imo.

I don't think we can compete (financially) with those big 7, who can basically pay any fee and wages necessary...
Man City
Chelsea
Man U
Barca
Real Madrid
PSG
Bayern
Now, I'm not boo hooing, because we can (and do) compete with nearly anyone else...

No, you're right, but only two of them do it "legit".
City, Chelsea and PSG are oiled up
Barca and Real Madrid would be better than us financially (but not a tremdous amount) anyway, but their TV deals are so stacked in their favor its not funny. A fairer TV deal and they'd be a lot closer to us.
Bayern and ManU - just being good and able to charge a lot. I actually don't think Bayern does that much better than us, but enough. And importantly, they are very deliberate in their wage structure with all the stars, hence a Kroos leaving.

Couple of thoughts I'm having -
Does West Ham's play on the road against the top teams give Rodgers any less valid of an excuse for the first half of this season? Clearly success can be had, by changing formations and playing strong. Early goals help, clearly.
Second, I was thinking of BR coming in as an offensive coach and wondering - is it harder to come from a Swansea, where no one sits back against you really, and set up a team and philosophy at a bigger club where people will sit back against you? I don't think his philosophy has fully had to adjust to the big club situation. I was thinking of Monk as a possibillity as our next coach (unlikely as I doubt we do the Swansea coach again), but now I'm thinking it has to be someone with big club experience.

Guys, long, hot, great day in Red Stick and I don't feel like having to look it up. What time is our match tomorrow?

what do you mean charge alot
Bayern and United tickets are actually decently priced. Bayern due to the pricing structure and fan membership having a say. United you can say is cheaper than going to see Liverpool. Might want to do some research before making those claims.
Arsenal charges alot

But does it really matter? I agree, Bayern appears to be the most well run out of those... Man U has big commercial deals out the wazoo and a stadium that holds about ~30,000 more than ours... plus a lot more recent success.
I dunno, a lot of our spending the last two season was fueled by Suarez and Sterling (and yes, TV)... But if thats going to be our source of income, we are going in the wrong direction..

the rumor... surely a diamond?
Mignolet – Clyne, Škrtel, Sakho, Moreno – Lucas – Milner, Emre Can – Coutinho – Sturridge, Benteke

I am actually pretty stoked to see this lineup (if true) today... I realize Studge will be rusty, but I hope it shows us a glimpse...
I also wouldn't mind seeing Coutinho deeper in the middle 3 and Firmino at the 10... I guess that would be asking way to much of BR though...

That lineup was spot on...
Which also means no more excuses for BR, he's got the striking pair that we knew was coming giving everyone being healthy, we HAVE to see more goals

What's his handle so I can go give him a follow?

looks like a back 3 with Can at RCB

Still not in sync, but so far, nice not to see us playing with an isolated striker...

Sakho has looked really good so far

Also nice to see a LB that can add width and attack!

What happened to Gomez? Is he out of the starting lineup now?
Posted on 9/20/15 at 10:43 am to cwil177
I think so... He is natural CB... as a right footed, LB... he added absolutely zero in attack.
So far today.. Looks like Moreno got the message
I think Gomez has a huge future as a CB

Appears so, this has been better, still needs some work, but the promise is certainly there.
