we really need AV to beat the scum or it's over...

we have a manageable group of games, but we also need to start playing better or we really have no shot, regardless of what other teams do..

I have no faith with the way we're playing now

How much would you pay Sterling right now?

I say he's worth £5,000 a week maybe

Honestly, I think £100k/wk is a fair wage... But with Studge on £150k/wk, we may have to go higher to keep him..

I honestly don't care what we pay him, I just wish he'd handle this like Hendo did.. Bad advice from his Agent (same guy behind the Berahino BS too)..

At the end of the day, I would like to keep him, but if someone comes in with £50mm?? I'd sell him..

We need to sell sterling and get the money for him. He's fades in and out of games way to much to be paid that much. It's FA cup or bust for us now in my opinion. I doubt we get top 4 and I'd still rather Europa then champions league for us right now. We need another year before we're ready. Now with 2 of our 3 center backs out I see us playing 4 in the back in Wednesday. Glenn probably gets a start and God knows which liverpool will actually show up to play

he's still young and learning... plus he's been played in positions that will limit his impact... don't get me wrong, he can improve and needs to... but he's worth the investment IMO... to some degree he's paying paid for potential (and some production), which is okay to me..

Only way I sell is if we get offered a huge sum, thats too good to turn down..

Man... This game shows how important Skrtel is to our back line. I gave him hell early in the year for a rough streak, but he truly is our anchor back there.

Can't help but think Gerrard could have helped a bit too. Our midfield looked like bagged arse, thus hanging our already shoddy defense out to dry, as well as Simon. Felt bad for him, there wasn't much he could do today.

Toure needs to go. Sakho needs to sharpen back up.

If we don't make at least one big signing, if not two this offseason, I am going to seriously begin to question the motives of the front office. Maybe it's just me, but we have talent enough in places to win now... we only have two big names, and Rodgers only plays one of them. Entirely frustrating.

Well, the motives of the front office has been buy young with potential in the BR era... Not sure what you mean by big signings, but I wouldn't hold your breath if your looking for an established star... If no UCL, it's almost a certain we won't.. IMO we need better scouts or better decision makers in the front office...

We haven't bought one single player in that mold, in.. I don't know how long.. Even Torres and Suarez, while known talents, made their names on the world stage at Anfield..

I agree we need some players this summer that need to be ready to take a place in the starting eleven.. At the very least, push some of these players that are "automatic," to actually earn that starting spot..

Is Balo really that bad to where he doesn't even make the bench?

I think he was bought against BRs wishes and the times we've even seen him on the pitch has been begrudgingly on his part... I wish he'd have gotten the run out that BR gave Lovren...

I agree with this and if true it doesn't make Rodger's look good. The last time I checked BR hasn't stuffed any shelves, he struck gold last year and the expectations are now upon the club. This team has struggled to consistently score all year and if it is beneficial to the club to play a guy like Balo with Sturridge then you swallow your pride and give it a run of matches to see if it works. I am firmly behind Rodger's as our manager going forward and the way he turned this season around was real quality. We are now facing an off season with no Europe so we will have to rely on acquiring youth with potential to fill our glaring needs at striker, midfield and another back line spot. Let's hope that we have done our homework.

I'd like to see us bring in another midfielder as an instant starter, but I am not so sure that a healthy Jordan Ibe is not that guy. He was fantastic on the pitch every time it seemed.

And by "big signings", I meant high impact signings, not necessarily going after big names. As I said, we have talent in places that is capable of pushing this team over the edge... the problem with that is we have glaring holes around them.

Filling those holes HAS to be a huge priority, and if we aren't going to play Balo regardless of feelings for/against him, we should sell him and free up those wages to pay some role players. Also, if Sterling's agent keeps pushing the 100k/wk envelope, happy trails. The more money we have free, the faster we win a BPL title. Can't have a raging 20 year old ego ruining the future prospects of the side as far as success is concerned.

This season has been a roller coaster ride, I can't believe the difference in how I feel leading up to the United match until now. Through it all we have the same issues going forward. Striker, maybe 2, does anybody believe Balo, Borini or Lambert are any kind of answers?. A consistent midfielder and of course we still help at the back end. The question I have going into next year is Can our future in the midfield? I don't have many answers today fellas just more questions.

Arsenal's midfield is in such great form at the moment that I was expecting that to happen. No team in the BPL is even close to Arsenal right now at that position.

I'm not nearly as worried about missing top 4 as I was at the beginning of the season. We've proven these young players have the capability to play like a team that can compete for the top 4. Another year under their belt will only make them better. Outside of Sterling everyone is freshly signed (Hendo is going to sign - I'm very confident in that) so no one is going anywhere. With Origi coming, a healthy Ibe, and Wisdom to strengthen the back we'll be fine. Assuming we cut the dead weight, we'll be well within FFP guidelines.

Good points with those three youngsters. We're still going to need another striker and the more I think about it I believe Can we'll be given every opportunity at midfield. And yes, Hendo signs.

Agreed and I'd be willing to give him that much. When played in his position this year he's had massive influence on the game. Rodgers then throws him on at WB and everyone is all up in arms about how poor he's playing. Please, people. Look at him at CM and CAM and he has the ability to grab the game by the scruff.

Getting rid of Gerrard's and Johnson's wages will clear up a ton of room.
