So Lovren was benched coming out of the locker room at the half and, as far as I know, it wasn't because of injury.

He definitely had a horrible 1st half, constantly letting attackers run right by him and having to chase them down.

I won't excuse Karius performance, it was horrible, BUT in both cases the defense in front of him was even worse. Lallana foolishly fouling on the edge of the box and Lovren (there's that name again) again getting schooled by an attacker leaving Karius one-on-one.

Bright side -

we don't have to worry too much about the "title talk" and the pressure it could bring - we just try to concentrate on top 4 at this point.

Karius probably can't get any worse, and if he can see himself through this, he'll be a strong minded GK that can see through any pressure

Surely Klopp has to know that Lovren isn't up to par and needs to be replaced

Less silver-lining-ish thoughts - Karius' positioning on both goals was bad. Really bad. Li That wasn't one of our free kick takers who aren't very threatening, that was likely a top 2-3 FK taker in the world, and you gave him 80% of the goal to shoot for like the wall was any sort of protection.

At this point, how does Karius justify this? He's not a 23 year old with half a season under his belt - he's played over 100 top flight games. Plenty enough experience to know better.

On the second goal - he's supposed to be the higher playing GK, and he was back in the goal like Migs and came out poorly, which essentially made for an easy goal.

Lovren is terrible. Matip looked slow - don't know if the ankle was bothering him but his turns and accellerations looked off yesterday.

Our front three - still can score goals, but not close to as dynamic, especially when the other team is parking the bus, as when Cou is in. Orig scores a goal, but he's way lacking in terms of linking with other players, knowing when and how to move to create space, doing the right thing with the ball, etc. He's young, and will likely get better at it, but putting him up top and moving Firmino to the left takes away the intelligence at the tip of our attack.

I def think Firmino is better centrally... His quality is somewhat wasted on the wing..

Like Ive said previously, IMO... I'd let Karius take his lumps and learn (hopefully).. Maybe he could get away with some of these things in the BuLi... I don't know..

Lovren has to be replaced in the first team, preferably sold... but I would be okay with him in the reserves...

I thought Matip was sound for the most part yesterday, perhaps his ankle was still bothering him... after further review, that ball that took a deflection and set up their second goal was unfortunate.. not saying he couldn't have done better, but goals do happen..

Again, if we could get a compliment to him.. I'm not worried about him..

While Milner has filled in admirable for never having played the position, we need a LB badly... even in attack, you can see what Moreno adds to the offense (not saying he's the answer)..

Can't find a TV listing for Liverpool vs Boro. I know it's Wednesday but Cox Nola doesn't show it. I I'll hang up and listen

Well boys, it's matchday!!! We can go level with Arsenal on points, provided we actually score more goals than our opponent, Middlesbrough. The problem is that M'brough have only conceded 16 goals this year, which is actually very impressive for a club only 3 points away from the relegation zone.

It will be tough, but I'm taking the reds today. 1-0.

Anyone seeing an update for Cox New Orleans? I notice that one of the city games on cox is listed as starting at 1:45 and one at 2 (the city game starts at 2) so I'm recording the 1:45 game, but also noticed that they are missing one of the 1:45 games other than ours. So who knows where its going to be? A key word search for Liverpool only reveals Mondays derby.

Show the kid that there are consequences for his errors. I don't have a problem with it at all. Its a competition. May the best keeper win.

Very surprised he's doing this - mainly because it could kill Karius confidence even more.

Unless this was the pre-arranged plan - i.e. Migs starts mid-week (so far usually Cap cup) and Karius weekend.

It really shouldn't be difficult. Hoping one of our NO brethren can at least let us know what channel its on - may be able to get my wife to switch the recording.
