We must be a total pain in the arse to play against. When we give up the ball we attack the damn thing like they stole our kid. I truly believe that when Klopp is finished his re development of this club from top to bottom it is going to be something else. The combination of Klopp and LFC just seem to be a perfect fit.

After Sakho's latest incident.. I gotta imagine that may be curtains for him..
I don't have a problem selling him, but if we do.. hopefully we go after one of those young germans like Tah or Sule...

quote:Those would be good buys but I still like what we have now. Matip, Lovren, and Klavan are a solid first 3. A healthy Gomez behind them isn't a bad fourth option. And then Lucas and Can able to play there in desperation. I wouldn't be surprised if Klopp doesn't see it as a dire need.

And damn we're looking good. It's still way too early, but this is looking like a top 4 side. Either way, should be a fun year

probably not a dire need this season..
I really like Matip.. he is so smooth in possession and with his height, has cleared some balls in the box with his head, I don't know if any of our other CBs get to..
I still don't care for Lovren, though he has improved some.. I def think he can be upgraded on.. I want a dominant, world class (or one in the making) CB...

I know it's just Hull but I am getting pretty damn excited for this season going forward guys.

Matip
been a fan of his for a while.... can't believe we got him on a free... young, tall, 1st team experience....
and as long as we take care of business vs. the Stokes and Sunderlands of the world, we take a lot of pressure off ourselves vs. the top of the table teams.... this has been a thorn in our sides for YEARS... seems like they are sorta figuring it out, though that Burnley game sure echoes pretty bad right now...

Can I get a mf-ing clean sheet please.
We looked great - though I'm not too sure hull parked the bus he way other teams will.

Pool is the only team I follow that has any hope. LSU is most likely on a joy ride with little hope of greatness, the Astros are flubbing away postseason baseball, and the Texans just got waxed by the Pats showing they are still mediocre at best. I need some kind of distraction, and Saturday morning was a nice one. Just need more of it. Klopp has them in the top 4 now, though we have the entirety of the campaign left. Hoping that we can keep on the gas and maybe earn a clean sheet finally. Was happy Karius got the start, but saw nothing from him other than the cheap goal our horrible set piece defense surrendered. And that wasn't even on him. Just gotta keep form and keep burying these lower tier squads. 5 deep and I were texting how odd it felt to see us up 5-1 on a bad squad after just beating Chelsea. Normally those are the cheap ones we drop for no real reason.

Hmm, I'm thinking about doing the same... Thanks for the link

YNWA, so you get a box every three months. Just curious but what kind of stuff do you get in the box?

Different merchandise each quarter.
Here's a review I found.
LINK
$75 each quarter (includes shipping). The contents are suppose to be a $125 value. Supposedly some people will get Kits as well. You submit your shirt and pants size during sign up. Can pay with PayPal as well. May not be for everyone but I order from the Anfield Shop quite a bit. No brainer for a diehard Red like myself.

Why is Roberto Firmino first choice at the #9?
Let Jurgen Klopp explain...

Let Jurgen Klopp explain...
https://www.thisisanfield.com/2016/09/physical-ability-klopp-explains-roberto-firmino-no-9/
quote:
“Roberto is a player who is always involved, in all offensive actions and all defensive actions,” he told Jamie Carragher.
“He really likes doing things like this, because it’s a natural skill that he knows.
“It’s a nice opportunity to win the ball and be close [to the goal], that’s why he’s doing it.
“He doesn’t think too much, he’s an instinctive player that’s really, really strong in these situations.
“He can play nearly all offensive positions, that’s how it is.”
quote:
But nevertheless, the German stressed that Firmino is preferred in the central role due to its physical demands, saying it is “the most intense job.”
“Roberto is in the centre because he has the physical ability to do it, because it’s the most intense job.
“He’s involved on both sides, when we’re a little bit deeper he’s involved, so he always has a job to do.”
quote:
Firmino is clearly fielded ahead of the likes of Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi in certain games due to the physical requirements and pressing ability he has.
That doesn’t mean Sturridge and Origi aren’t needed by Klopp, but that there’s a clear reason and explanation as to why Firmino is required in the role in certain games, especially against tough opponents away from home.

Sakho's starting with the U23's against Wolfsburg
I haven't been able to watch other than highlights, but our U23's have been doing well. Scoring a lot of goals too

Thanks YNWA for the info, and for that glorious pic.

didnt catch the goal so I have no its of it was his fault but the difference between migs and karius with their feet is incredible. At least 3-4 times in the first half kicks that karius made would have been out of bounds by migs but were outstanding passes for karius including s beauty to Clyne to spring him forward.

The goal was not his fault, awkward set piece (imagine that?!). He had a couple of lost crosses, we got a break late on a cross that was a gift but the Jacks have no luck these days.
