I see Aruba and French Guiana as the only teams interested in playing them. Why would any team in the WC want to test themselves against sub mediocrity?

November lame duck friendlies don't have to be seismic made for TV spectacles... Aruba and French Guinea-ish teams make perfect sense if they're just going to be basically international scrimmages

Especially if you plan on working in some new blood.

we should host an 8 team tourney in June with teams that just missed out on qualifying- Chile, slovakia, wales, etc

at least get some kind of competitive matches before Gold cup 2019

This keeps getting thrown around, and I actually like the idea, but I would assume there has to be some sort of FIFA rule that would not allow this. Of course, the World Cup is going to dwarf a reject tournament, but FIFA probably doesn't want any international competition for TV sets.

So do we call in the young guys and watch them get completely embarrassed and their confidence destroyed or what

I say yeah, idgaf at this point. Just give me a side that will actually try for 90 minutes.

I think you'll see a mixture. Probably some young guys like McKennie, Pulisic. Maybe a send off for Fab.

Gotta think Horvath will be called. Maybe CCV.

I would be completely fine with those guys named.

Like you said earlier, they are playing with their clubs and deserve it.

ETA: I’d like to add Miazga since he is playing regularly in the Dutch league. Unless he has gotten hurt or something over the last two weeks.

With the MLS playoffs, these would mostly just be our European based players correct? Wouldn't seem like the teams wouldn't want their better players going to Europe for some friendlies.

The only MLS players I want to see are the young ones getting call ups at younger age groups.

Yeah, playoff bound MLS players are likely excluded.
