I really really hope NBC has a similar highlight show done on Fox Soccer's Sunday night. IE every match show, no filler.

I liked FSC coverage a lot actually, hopefully NBC can deliver.

Yeah the Premier League Review Show on Fox Soccer is excellent. As long as they have something equal to this I will be happy

Random thought: obviously we don't know exactly what the bids were, but do you think the Murdoch scandal in England played a part in Fox losing the TV rights?

hopefully they actually show it, they bought the rights to MLS and it's hardly ever on their channel.

I think this says a lot about the potential of soccer in the US. Basically the value of the EPL rights in the US has tripled. I knew we were making some headway when ESPN was buying individual games from Fox. It certainly makes sense for NBC as baseball is dying, Hockey is on strike, ESPN is locking up CFB and MNF.
Like you guys, I am concerned about the quality of the coverage. I know we dealt with tape delays during the olympics but USWNT games during that time were some of the most dramatic parts of the olympics. At this point NBC is saying no tape delays with most if not all of the games shown on their networks. That's music to my ears as I would rather not watch streams in Arabic. That being said, I am going to miss Ian, Maca, and barton. Hopefully they'll get picked up, darke in particular. I think he does a lot to enhance the "englishness" of EPL games broadcast to the US.

I like to think that I am an Average Joe American, and my increase in soccer fandom and decrease in baseball fandom was never more evident than this weekend. After getting in from Halloween festivities early Sunday morning, I stayed up to watch the Dynamo game I DVR'ed. On the other hand, I was surprised to hear on the radio this morning that the World Series ended last night. If you told me I would feel this way 10 years ago when baseball was my life, I would have called you crazy. The more I read about this NBC deal, the more excited I get.

It means that IF the game isn't on TV live you'll be able to watch it on the website for sure.

NBC's English-language networks will televise six live games a week. One or two of the company's other cable channels will also be used, Lazarus said, but which has not been determined yet as schedules are evaluated. Other games will be streamed live online

Yeah, sadly if it isn't the Reds, I'm not watching baseball. Even the NFL is getting that way for me.
