I think both of these qualify as douchy, although I'm a big fan of Zidane and he has a pretty class reputation for the most part, except for his 2 red cards in his career (the other was for headbutting or stamping or something like that too).

Materazzi just has douche written all over him.

No, Zidane was one of the all time greats. Do yourself a favor and look up some videos of him on youtube. I think he was saying that Zidane isn't douchy enough for this thread. Which I get. But I'm a huge France homer and I have to admit that some of the stamping/headbutting in his career was pretty douchy.

ETA: That said, Materazzi is still 10x more of a douche.

Dude was absolute 100% pure class. He doesn't deserve to be within a mile of this thread.

Eh, this dude literally just started following soccer a couple days ago. It is hard to comprehend, but it was not a dumb post or anything.

He started asking about on the field behavior, so I felt like I had to put an asterisk next to Zizou if I was going to put up a picture of Materazzi getting headbutted by him. If anything he's one of the most popular players of all time.

I agree that he doesn't belong in this thread because the majority of fans view him quite favorably.

However, having watched him at Juve, he was certainly no saint.

He always had quite an explosive temper and was pretty fond of the dark arts himself (leaving a foot in, stomping a defender, diving etc). He had more than his share of red cards even though he played for Juve.

I'm not saying he was that out of the ordinary but he, again, was far from a saint or a Zanetti.

I don't think he's an idiot. It's understandable if the didn't. I honestly just didn't know if he was being serious.

I was being serious
I've only watched what, two full EPL matches so I'm about as green as you can get.

Carry on with discussions on who practices 'the dark arts' though, It's an enlightening read.
