Old one sucked. New one also sucks.

Which is odd because those stupid nonsensical explanations detracted from the logo for me.

I dont understand how explanations of the symbolism of an object detract from it. Without symbolism in our sports teams we're left with the NBA and the NFL. Leagues based almost solely on market share and cash money. Its nice to be reminded that our passion means something more than revenue to a league.

Symbolism isn't the problem. Their explanations of the symbolism just don't make sense.

The logo looks far better in the kit picture than alone, so that helps. It looks kind of unfinished. Could be a little bolder IMO.

I didn't see the part about the white field. That's retarded. But the stars, colors, and dividing line all make sense. I like its simplicity.

I think it's too minimalistic. The explanations make it seem like a decent idea, but I'm not a fan of it EXCEPT for the team colors idea like MLB has.

Evolution of the logo below. It has potential, it's not completely terrible, but it could be much better. The empty white space is weird and the line extending out just looks like a mistake.

It DOES look better in team-specific colors:

And I think it looks rather nice on the LA Galaxy kit:

I like simple and clean logos but this one looks like one of those crests you could choose from to make a club in FIFA. I mean could they have used a better font than just arial? At least arial bold?

That's not Arial.

Yeah. Marketing-speak is almost always full of dumb shite like that. For instance:

quote:

PERIMETER: The perimeter represents the lines that mark off the field of play.

2 Incredibly well-run leagues that feature the best athletes in the world.

It doesn't. Get over it. Enjoy sports for what they are. Entertainment.

What's funny is that they brought in three graphic design companies to come up with something that we could've made on MS Paint.

I really like how it looks on the Galaxy shirt and how the logo is color specific to each team.

You clearly don't understand how sports work outside of America. I guess my gut instinct is to view American soccer the same way I view British football. Maybe I need to alter my expectations, but if the MLS is going to turn into a clone of the NFL and NBA then I'm glad I haven't really gotten into it.

We've argued this point to death recently in other threads so I don't want this one to devolve down that road. Just understand that there are some of us who embrace what makes international sport different from American. And that will usually affect our views and opinions of the MLS because of the similarity of the sport being played.

There's your first mistake. American sports teams are all franchises created based on media market sizes that would produce the most revenue.
