How many of Bradley's passes were backward or lateral compared to the French midfielders? The numbers do not tell the whole story. What were the players trying to accomplish with each pass? Were the players being challenged for possession when making the passes?
Pogba and Matuidi absolutely sucked against the Germans. France was eliminated because they did nothing to facilitate much offense for France.

Bradley wasn't nearly as bad as some think. I'm of the opinion that he fell short of the bar that he set for himself, which is unfortunate for him. He's only being judged in comparison to his own prior excellence.
I don't believe this is very fair or logical, but it's just the way it goes I guess.

Was talking to an Australian for a long time on the beach today and he told how much he was impressed with Bradley. I even said he had to play out of position at times, but he still kept telling me how much he enjoyed watching him play.
I thought Bradley had his best game in the World Cup against Belgium.
Twellman may have just walked into the room. Dude is wearing a hoodie and covering his face.

You really consider Bradley to be above average? I'm comparing him to all midfielders in the WC. Not the U.S.

Yes. Granted he didn't play his best, but he was still decent even if playing out of position.
His stats might not be near the top of alot of top countries best midfielders, but he was probably more important to the USMNT than any of those players are to their teams.
ETA: The only other midfielder I can think of who is as important to the team is James Rodriguez. Although Bradley was thrust into the CAM role his true role is the un-sexy box to box midfielder. That position its almost more of a compliment if you don't hear their name all game.

You didn't even read my post. I said he turned the ball over because of poor first touch. Good players don't turn the ball over all the time because of that.

I would not go that far at all. Luka Modric, Pirlo, and many others are more important to their team because they contribute so much, but this is super subjective.

I play and watch soccer. Sorry, but if you think good players lose the ball all the time because they have no control, then your opinion isn't believable because good players dont have poor first touch.

Yea, when I was writing it I was thinking I probably went a little too far, but without Bradley I can't imagine us getting out of our group.
I find it hard to believe that it would be Mexico vs New Zeland and not the USMNT for the play off.
For all his faults during WC, he did alot of tracking back to help on defense, and close down passing lanes that you don't get with most true CAM (dempsey probably being the worst). Stats and plays like that are not something thats as sexy as little flicks or cross overs, but are more important.

Good players in the middle of the park lose the ball all the time for all sorts of reasons. It's not a high percentage role in the slightest. You may play and watch but it hasn't taught you shite about the game because you're honestly clueless.
