Silver lining of this loss. Mexico’s big win in the tournament also lost to South Korea

I can guarantee you Mexico fans could not care less about this at the moment.

National team managers should only get one cycle, maybe two. It just doesn't work longterm.

At the moment. When they can’t ever brag about beating Germany at the WC without someone responding that Germany sucked at this WC, they’ll care.

Unless Germany lost all of their balls, they'll fire Löw and hire someone who can use the talent that's coming up and not try to keep possession for 70% of the game and win 1-0

They seemed to play pretty aggressively, just missed a million goal-scoring chances. Maybe he's not the best coach, IDK. But you can't blame him for all the missed shots.

All I can hope for now is Brazil win today so we get a BRA/MEX matchup and at least one of them has to go home.

what really sucks is this result is going to turn me into a huge fricking brazil fan for TWO games now. this is something i never wanted to feel.

Or you could cheer for a sinkhole to appear in the stadium

Crazy tournament. Hate seeing Mexico advance, but they’re gonna get bounced in the Round of 16 again playing like that. Their inevitable meltdown has only been postponed a few days by Germany’s frick-up.

We might see another first-time winner the way things are going.

i'd still have to pull for brazil today, but if the above happened against mexico in knockout stage it would be worth it.

That's what I'm hoping for. A new winner. Probably why I'm one of like 5 not pulling for England

germany's style of play is why I hate "possession soccer"

Ok cool, you passed the ball side to side for 90 minutes and had 70% possession, but did you do anything?

They kept the ball in the offensive third but it all went side to side. They only had about 5 shots on target. Everything was long range with 8 defenders in the way

Now this World Cup is wide open....

Can GOATnaldo put Portugal on his back for an unexpected title at the end (I'd imagine) of his international career similar to EURO 2016?

Can Espana overcome the coaching debacle and take the title with it's uber-talented roster?

Can England continue it's good run of form all the way to the title?

Can Belgium finally break through with Lukaku looking like a world beater?

Will Messico fold like a cheap tent?

Will Argentina continue to look like a glorified B squad?

What about Croatia...Modric controlled his group like no other?

Even with Germany out this is shaping up to be a good one boys
