Do you agree with my upper mid table Belgium/Turkey assessment?

So like every athlete in any sport ever?

I don’t even like MLS that much, but your axe to grind against it is laughable.

You can predict his comments based on the thread subject. He’s an NPC. He’ll probably call you a boot licker next for calling him out on it. For a guy who wants grass roots soccer to succeed here you never see him posting about his local team.

There’s no way to be wrong that MLS is shite.

“Look at the old guy, he’s scoring a ton.”

“The league is so bad that the big name player stopped playing well. Just collecting paychecks and mailing it in.”

What old guy is scoring a ton right now? (Forward is a position players have greater longevity anyway, FWIW) What league doesn’t have checked out players who are just getting a pay check? (The only obvious one in MLS right now being Higuain) I just don’t see how these arguments make MLS any worse than any other league. If you’re trying to make the argument that MLS is “bad” some objective data would be nice.

I’m literally one of two people who ever talk about DC United on this board

What are you talking about

2 questions:

1) When is the last time you posted about DCU?

2) When is the last time posted about DCU more than 2 times in a day?

Probably the start of this season

Or end of last season

I went through about a 9 month period where I maybe posted in general a couple times a week because I was never home bc of work and well I have kids.

I just started posting more the last month or so

The MLS thread this year only has 8 pages, not much traction or love for it as past years.

Will Becks keep Neville around long enough for Messi to make him look like a decent manager?

Good question, but now I’m seeing stuff saying the initial report was BS.

It has someone become harder for me to watch the league. So I'm not surprised.

The league is objectively better than it was even five years ago. I find that I enjoy watching random games more so now than ever before. That said I generally try to find games with youth USMNTers playing.

I don't get this. The teams have started bringing in more talented South American talent, especially attacking talent, which has made the games more fun. If you have ESPN+ you can watch almost every game, and then one a week is free to stream on Twitter. It is the most accessible it has ever been, and the most fun it has been. The expansion clubs like LAFC, Austin, and Nashville have great supporters and atmosphere as well.

Are there any expansion teams that you would say have been outright failures from an atmosphere standpoint?

Cincy been pretty meh, and Charlotte outside of opening weekend seemed to be meh. Miami seemed to be hit or miss from the few times I've watched them.

I didn't mean that the play was worse. I don't have ESPN+ and I don't know anyone who does. None of the games show up on normal channels outside of the 1/week ESPN ones. I'm not going to pay for a service where I'm not guaranteed to watch the team I root for.

It's definitely evolved. I think that bottom level of the league hasn't improved much, but the teams at the top are certainly elevating the level of play.

That makes sense then. It's well worth it FWIW. I live far enough from Orlando that I get all the OCSC games, but I can see how it would be frustrating to be in a blackout market.

If you have kids then most likely you'll have the Disney+ bundle which has ESPN+ and Hulu which is the reason that I am able to stream those games. Also the local Dynamo games are broadcast on Telemundo, I might not understand what the announcers are saying but I still watch the game.
