The stats don’t really bear that retirement league trope out anymore. Going to be awesome seeing Messi in MLS though. Would be nice to have Ronaldo too but he raped that woman in Vegas so we know that ain’t happening.

I mean yea the league has gotten younger with its DPs

But dudes are still coming to MLS at the back end of their career

I just can’t wait to see him rip apart the lack of spacial awareness defenders have in MLS

We saw how Ibra, Wazza, Vela and even Gonzalo has even done when he gives a shite. But he stops trying after getting shite after shite ball played to him

Statistically the Argentinian league is the most retirementy of the Western Hemisphere leagues. The recent young DP push has been great for MLS.

Ibra then went back to Serie A and kept scoring, so that's dumb. Vela was 28 when he came to MLS, hardly a retirement move.

And LOL at thinking Gonzalo has done anything of note in Miami.

You're just making shite up.

Said he came here for less pressure and to enjoy LA/Life bc it’s not as serious here along with being paid like a king

I know you have better reading comprehension than that. Overall he’s been bad, but when he actually gives a shite he scores.

So your argument is when he scored, it's because he gave a shite, but when he didn't score, he didn't give a shite?

Is the end result the only way you differentiate if he gave a shite or not?

You realize how ridiculous that is, right?

I'm not debating whether he gives a shite or not. He never did.

But I just think your argument is insane that, if he did give a shite, his broken down arse would suddenly be a top scorer in MLS.

That's just intellectually dishonest.

No I don’t think he would be the top scorer

But if he actually put more effort out there his performance would be much better

There’s no way to be wrong that MLS is shite.

“Look at the old guy, he’s scoring a ton.”

“The league is so bad that the big name player stopped playing well. Just collecting paychecks and mailing it in.”

There is no way that MLS can win this debate.

And I think I’m pretty neutral when it comes to MLS. It is more balanced and with fewer elite teams than European leagues, but it’s mid-tier sides would be in 8th place in Belgium, Turkey, etc.
