I realize it's a dumb question, but ultimately, why not? Say they paid for the talent that makes them competitive. One US team could be financially stacked. Is it merely a geographic issue?

Yeah. But it's not like Premier League teams are ever going to fly to the states.
As stupid as the NFL having a team in London would be, this would be a thousand times dumber because Premier League teams don't have near the distance between each other as NFL teams do.

Does the EPL have no interest in expanding beyond the UK borders and tap into a pool of 330,000,000 potential fans?
I'm growing more interested in soccer but having no real rooting interest is a real cap on that interest.
