Why the frick was there another ball on the field during Sterling’s run/penalty? Like I was watching my son’s U10 game with 5 games going on at once.

Serie A is deeper than La Liga right now. Seems like a different set of teams in the knockout phase of CL every year, whereas you see the same 3-4 teams from Spain.

You could make a case for Bundesliga, too, which is why I said “arguably the second best league.”

Point is that Italy has some talent, too.

M8, who starts for England on Sunday? (Saka, Sancho, or Trippier)

Highly disagree. I'd put Serie A behind:

1. Premier League
2. La Liga
3. Bundesliga

La Liga had like 9 teams in contention for Champions League or Europa League the last 2 weeks of the season.

A weak Juventus means a weak Italian League. I love Atalanta though

It is a "who can outdouche the other" competition between Twellman during the Euros and Lalas during Copa America.

Good god.

Agree to disagree. La Liga is a bit top heavy with Real, Barcelona, and Atletico in CL knockout every year.

Villareal just won the Europa League

The Italian teams aren't even close to the knockout stages every year outside of Juventus.

I’m not clamoring that Serie A is the second best
But the last 5 UCLs they’ve had Atleast 2 in the knockout stages
And 3 in the last 2

Cheers mate. Let’s bring it home on Sunday.

Looking forward to watching Sterling play with Kane past Sunday.

The better team won. Still don’t like that penalty call though
My thoughts as well. Props to the Danes for their run after the tragedy of game one and then losing the second game as well.

If they do the laser pointer or have any other fan interference this weekend they need to be severely punished. It was already bad enough they got gifted a penalty kick but then to try and cheat with the pointer is insane.

Villareal just won the Europa League

the 2nd/mid tier of La Liga REALLY values the Europa. the Italians don't value it nearly as much

the real argument against La Liga slipping is b/c Barca/Real must be 2 of the 5-6 best teams in the world for La Liga's prestige, but they kind of low key suck right now. LL is very top heavy by design

sure Juve have dominated recently, but AC is coming back and Inter just had a little resurgence. plus something like Atalanta lasting over multiple seasons just will not happen in LL anytime soon b/c of the structure. in Serie A the 2nd/mid tier (Roma, Napoli, Lazio etc.) can be CL-level good. outside of Barca/Real, only Athletico can possibly do that. the issue with Serie A is that the 2 Milan clubs have to stop being insane and become steady clubs again, which they are trending to do

with AC/Inter trending one way and Barca/Real trending the opposite, i could see the argument for Serie A over La Liga
