belgium is like the netherlands if they never had the cryuff or ban basten generations and went straight to patrick kluivert and edgard davids. italy's formation is always so disciplined and their attack is always so boring. they can always get bounced early or make a final

and apparently, no fullbacks...

literally all of Belgium's good players are better in the center and they haven't figured anything out for the flanks, just keep sticking central players out there.

You nailed it. Belgium is like Holland. No cohesion whatsoever despite the talent.

that game was calling for Benteke, more than Origi, in the end..

The last thing Belgium needed out there was a Liverpool forward in general.

pipe down chuckles.. If you're going to lump it into the box, you can do a lot worse than Benteke.. it's the one thing he does well..

Ah, well he's been the best (arguable) ball playing defender itw for a while now and with Marchisio, Verratti, and Ricky out of the squad he's the only one capable of opening up defenses with a single pass

I didn't find Italy's attack to be boring. It was disciplined, and actually predictable, but their execution was good enough that it created good opportunities. It took 3 first rate saves by Bel;gium to keep the score at 1-0 until the stoppage time goal. They could have beaten anyone today.

His range is second to none. Could argue someone like boating or silva have a better touch and are more comfortable with the ball at their feet

I haven't paid too close attention, but was Berardi called up for Italy?

I know Holland has their spats, but they did find some sort of cohesion to finish 2nd and 3rd in the last 2 World Cups.
