Which is why anyone can win the league.

No reinforcements to an aging squad in either transfer window +
No SAF +
No clue what Moyes is doing +
No RVP or Rooney

= No chance against high-caliber teams

And now, a trip into the mind of David Moyes:

Q: How can this get worse?

A: Chris Smalling

Man U is liverpool with a slightly worse manager, and their two star forwards have been hurt way more than SaS. Once those two come back at 100% Man U will be right up around 4th talent wise. Without them though....this is bad

Ajax 1

PSV 0 Final

Wow, it's no shocker that neither is leading the league. Ajax with the lead late and they are pushing everyone up, getting caught on the break. The clock couldn't end soon enough!

Eh...maybe. Still have very little in central midfield depth outside of Carrick, and your most creative midfielder hardly gets off the bench. The wingers are getting old and have been ineffective this season. Central defense is still mostly good, but is also old. Same goes for left back.

When 100 percent healthy, United is world-class only at striker. They're a Europa League side almost everywhere else.

TL;DR: Better tactics would be nice, but the roster needs help.

You could the say same thing about Liverpool though. Being truly world class in one area of your team can cover up a lot of flaws in other areas. Rooney and RVP are truly world class. There isn't a team in the world with a markedly better strike force than them two when they're both healthy. But I agree without them two, Janujaz, De Gea, maybe Vidic and maybe Carrick, although they're both showing their age, are the only players that should be consistently starting on a top EPL side.

Carrick is still the best English passing midfielder and probably will be for a while. He'd improve any team.
