jk - I like Amos. Glad to see he'll be backing up De Gea.

Hernandez and cash for Vidal? Works for me.

That's assuming Woodward can work out a deal. Nothing he has done in the past year has given me confidence that he can close a big deal.

MK Dons away in the league cup. Milton Keynes is about 30mins from my house by car. Crossing my fingers I can get away tickets.

I doubt all the season ticket holder snap them up. MK is not easy to get too.

I get your point, and we've gotta stay true to the narrative, but…

No doubt he was a good signing, but at the time we were considered to have overpaid to a rival who basically needed to sell him. Either way, getting three good guys with so many glaring needs just makes my head hurt to think we have nothing else solidified at this point. We've needed wingers and CB all offseason and have signed zero.

Yea, there was a lot of debate whether or not he was worth it at first. I have always been in the yes camp, and glad to see that for once (besides when we got Rooney) I'm right about a players value.

RvP has "no chance" of playing tomorrow, per LvG. It's looking like Blackett will be the starting LCB with James and Young playing as the wing backs.

I'm really on the fence as to pick up Ashley Young on my fantasy team. He had a wonderful pre season, and hopefully will continue. It's between him, Mutch, Sidwell, and Shelvey.

I already have Rooney and Mata.

I have really high hopes for Mata this season. I think he has a real shot to be the PL's top scoring midfielder.

I know preseasons can be misleading, but him and Rooney look like they will make a great combo.

Fellaini, Chicharito, Nani need to GTFO. And RVP needs to get back in the lineup.

I think LvG started Chicharito and subbed on Nani/Fellaini to speed up their departures. Force Woodward's hand by causing an early panic.

It's a bold strategy, Cotton.

Lulz

Has to be obvious to everyone now (as if it wasn't before) that we need to cut the deadwood and spend to buy players in the needed areas.

Time for Ed to get on the phone and get the deals done. We supposedly have a "war chest" of funds available. Glazers stand to lose a lot of money if we fail to qualify for CL again.

I'm hoping for a 2013/14 Arsenal situation. Loss in home opener, upset fans, responds with a big purchase (or hopefully purchases in this case).

There is a lot of buzz today saying Benatia to United should be wrapped up early next week. Just rank speculation at this point it seems, but some reports out there we have tendered a bid of over 30M pounds. Hopefully there's something to it.
