Manchester City's Samir Nasri out for about 8 weeks

He hasn't ever sucked. Mancini's style didn't fit his playing style. Under Pelligrini you are seeing his talent.

When Nasri loses all aspirations to be Zidane and instead decides he wants to be a world-class wide forward, he will be. He's been playing better but he still holds onto the ball too long for my tastes.

Yep. He was incredible for a couple of months in 2010/11. He's not reached that level for Man City, but he's playing better now than he was under Mancini.

For me, he's a wide forward through and through, in that he's more similar to Ribery than to Zidane.

Nasri has really fit in well with the City players this past year. I'm excited for him to return. He'll probably still be back before Jovetic.

Nasri has been nothing short of fantastic for City this year. . . (As I've mentioned before, I'm saddled by a lot of City fan friends and end up watching a lot of their matches.)

This is a huge blow to their CL aspirations.

I enjoy watching City even if I'm not really a fan in the least. My girlfriend is a huge City fan and couple of other friends are as well so about 95% of the time I watch English football it's City (if you can call them English since they seem to be doing all they can to rid themselves of every English player they own).


The Nasri injury may not ultimately effect their league title race but I think it severely diminishes their chances in the CL. I'd argue that he's been their best player this year on a pretty consistent basis after being extremely inconsistent the past couple of years. .

Spurs have a lot of talent which will eventually pan out. Baldini may have erred slightly in the same way he did at Roma: perhaps bringing too many new faces too quickly. I haven't heard much about who he may bring in as the next manager.

Spurs should go after Marcelino.

As long is Silva is healthy, they will be fine. I like them better with Silva and Navas playing to be honest. Navas provides them with a deadly counter attack, and Silva/Nasri play too similarly for me to think he's a huge loss for the CL.

It definitely can hurt their depth with them still playing in 4 competitions though. Good thing Aguero is returning soon.

You may be right. I agree that Navas bounding up the wing gives them a different dimension. However, I think that they're a lot more dangerous when Pelligrini has the option to make the Nasri/Navas switch on the fly against very good sides like Barcelona. With Nasri out, you know much better what you're facing as an opposing manager.
