Is this an indication of the level of fandom in the United States?

I bit the bullet and got mine today! Staying at the Hilton Garden Inn downtown. Anyone making the trip?

Pre sale just went on sale today

No shite the secondary market is going to have them at insane prices when the actual sale to general public hasn’t happened.

I’ll wait, until way close $200+ for a preseason friendly

Ehhh more like inflating the market

Charging 400+ for upper deck for “platinum” seats is just wild

I plan on taking my boys but I’m gonna wait.

Gonna wait on tix here too. Discouragingly rapey right now. We’re planning a trip to Charleston with side trip to see the match. Can’t wait to see Kade Gordon, Sepp van de Berg, and maybe one starter play!

Of all the gin joints in the US, how did Columbia, SC get one of these three matches?

It's a good location and a large stadium. Columbia is close to Atlanta, Charlotte, Raleigh, Greenville and Charleston. Plus I'd imagine they're looking for new markets, which almost all of SC is, since there's never been anything like this here before. I've got a ticket and am looking forward to it.

None of that’s wrong, I get the geography. I’m not trying to slander Columbia, always heard it was a cool place, and I’m looking forward to seeing it as one of the three teaming SEC towns I haven’t been to yet. It just seems weird with Atlanta and Charlotte right there, and NFL stadiums in those cities, that two clubs that have two of the nicest stadiums in Europe would play in a college town/stadium.

It’s just lame to root for teams with stacked rosters.

I like rooting for LSU, and they’re usually pretty stacked. You’re welcome to have your grievance, I get on the outside looking in, rooting for LFC is like rooting for any other big market team, but tell me a more likable coach than Klopp, or a team that’s more fun to watch than Liverpool.

Im sure there’s a quiet dignity in rooting for a lesser team, and as a Saints fan, I respect that too.

Atlanta is basically a dome so they would need to replace the fake turf with grass. Same for Charlotte even though it is outdoor it has fake turf because their owner is the biggest a-hole in the universe. Williams Brice has more seats than Atlanta or Charlotte and since people are paying $400 for the nose bleed seats, what does it matter? They are making a ton of money.

1) Man united doesn't have a stacked roster

2) Neither team has always had a stacked roster. Surely you aren't suggesting to just abandon a team you support because they are good. I started supporting liverpool under Brendan Rodgers. They finished 8th in the table and had never won the Premiere League in its current version. It was evident even then that Anfield was the best atmosphere in England and arguably all of Europe, there was something about the crowd willing a team to a win that resonated and stuck. I can remember the very match that it clicked, "how could you not support this club?" Jordan Henderson of all people hit an absolute banger from outside the box against City. Here is Klopp's first 11 at LFC

Always bugs the shite out of. There will be some friendlies from some big clubs or Team USA that’ll hit DC maybe once a year. I always think about going saying to myself “a friendly in a ~70,000 seat stadium? No problem. Should be plenty of cheap seats.” And yet I’m always disappointed. Especially when you see how many seats go unsold because of the pricing.
