Yea surprised he kept giggs. Only way that works is if giggs is supportive fully.

Yea it was pretty well known Giggs was going to learn under him. He might be an egomaniac but van Gaal is smart.

LVG is not good news for y'all. Giggs could potentially undermine him and all of that but if LVG gets full support, they'll be much better.

I think Giggs will know his role and pay deference to LVG. You can't have a playing career with one club as long as he's had without a healthy respect for authority. I also imagine the two had some frank discussions and that LVG laid some ground rules before Giggs agreed to sign on.

I think he's a great manager, but as an opposing fan, I prefer this route with LVG for a couple of years with an eye to Giggs as a replacement, over someone like Klopp, Simeone or De Boer or someone that is young and will stay awhile... especially the Giggs part, because he has given no one any reason to worry...
I like the fact that LVG has already had to make a concession to keep him on.. and that he is notoriously difficult to deal with and burns bridges most places he's been..
Also, that RVP is his guy and may further unsettle Shrek...
That being said, I'm obviously looking at this through LFC tinted glasses and hoping for failure... So far, the post Slur Alex era at ManUre has provided nothing but.. so optimism
abounds!

Yes, you're right LVG with Ryan Giggs as his successor is guaranteed to keep the ManU train rolling for years to come... this past season was a bump in the road..

Did I say for sure success. But LVG is already a top manager in the league. Giggs will learn alot from him. Giggs didn't do bad and you can tell the players wanted to play for him. Any locker room he goes into he already warrants respect.
Its ok you scousers are scared again and will downplay this anyway you can.

He isn't going to be around that long IMO.
I think he makes you better right away and you would have probably been much better this year with him... I just think it speaks to a little bit of desperation to hire him, knowing you have one year to get it right or slip even further behind... So, perhaps it is the right choice today... and maybe Giggs is a potential WC manager, but it isn't putting fear into the hearts of your rivals (I get it, you WANT him to be the next great.. doesn't work that way all the time)...
**I will also add this, when I say further behind, I mean not your guaranteed place in top 4... ManUre will always be in contention, for the most part.. I realize that. I also realize LFCs success this year doesn't mean guaranteed top 4 next year..
