Again, I think he makes you better from day one...
Obviously, the transfer market will play a huge role in how successful he will be next season... If some of the names you are linked with come in, hell even Moyes could win with that (maybe)...
What is his system... 4-2-3-1? Any indication of which of your players he favors and which are gone (other than the obvious)?

Moyes, nah he was clueless when it came buying United players. I listed some of his targets in the transfer thread.

It really depends b/c shite he is going 3-5-2 with Holland this summer. I know he likes 4-3-3 but thats pretty standard with alot of Dutch coaches.

Nothing so far outside the guys who need to go.

From the "SAF will Retire" thread:
In reply to:
2/3 ain't bad?
True.

Jury still out on the 'years' part.
Actually a pretty tame thread. Read more here

Even back last year SFP and SCH were arguing over MU's academy:

Happy for moyes. He will succeed. Hope everton hit a home run with their own hire.

This is the mentality that I'm referring to I guess. It just seems like most UTD fans assume Moyes will be successful because he's at Manchester United. Judging by the managerial landscape in professional soccer, the likelihood is that he won't be successful (certainly not on the same level as SAF) and if Moyes is still there in 5 years it will be against all odds.

There will come a point when Manchester United are looking up the table at the likes of Tottenham, Newcastle, Everton, etc
Completely lost you right there buddy.

well our board is not like others that will pull the trigger fast unless we see some 5th and below finishes
True.

if you read the thread my post all add to the discussion but you wishful thinking of Man United hitting a run of trophy less years is just that wishful thinking.

I completely understand what Xavier is saying. A league cup would be considered a disappointing season for United fans. And a league cup and a #3 finish is certainly possible (and I'd argue likely) in the first year and possibly the second.

Didn't know that... I didn't realize they had 3 CBs worth a shite...
I'm just curious what he does with RVP, Shrek, Kagawa and Mata in attack... who I think are all great players, though none best suited to play out wide, even though they can..

I'm a little worried about clashing with the players, especially Rooney. Rumors of naming RvP captain (not a fan of). We'll see though. I'm happy with the hire but am curious to see how it all plays out.
Posted on 5/19/14 at 10:26 am to PTBob
ohgodohgodohgodohgod please make RVP captain
Posted on 5/19/14 at 10:47 am to cwil177
I think he'd be a fine captain, just other people that have been there longer may take it as a slap in the face. I probably would as well.
Posted on 5/19/14 at 10:53 am to PTBob
LvG is very particular about selecting his own captain. It's going to be Van Persie.
Posted on 5/19/14 at 11:05 am to SwaggerCopter
LvG has had enough low points in his career that doubting him at ManU isn't ridiculous.
solid hire for sure. need to see who they (and everyone else) get before judging where they finish. this league is so fun.
