Gomez sent back to merseyside with achilles soreness... down to 2 first team CBs... need at least one in soon...
Gravenberch ended up playing CB.
Yeah, we need MORE than one CB if (No Longer) Young Joe can't stay healthy.

There's enough smoke about Konate's future... plus Liverpool should be challenging for major trophies this season and players want to be a part of that.. Spurs couldn't offer that last season.. There will be minutes to go around...
I think if we can come to an agreement with Palace, he'd come... If he wanted to be a guaranteed starter, where would he go? NUFC?

Lucho to Bayern at the finish line. Even Joyce is reporting it
Isak funds?

I was just seeing that.. Assuming Nunez/Chiesa are going too (plus Jota), I think that leaves us 2 short in attack... Isak + ??

Lucho is going to be a big loss IMO... But it's absolutely the right decision to sell, since we didn't plan to renew his deal at his age... and at an ~ £15/20MM profit, depending on the final deal structure... no brainer..
We need someone ready to be the starting LW (I think Gakpo is more of a squad/spot starter)... unless we plan to change shape if we get Isak or Slot views Wirtz in that role...

I keep seeing us linked with Malik Fofana from Lyon who’s a young forward
I’m curious if Rio Nguhoma continues to impress what we do with him. Only 16 though so not sure if a loan move to get regular playing time is the best thing or if Slot really rates him and thinks he’d play enough in cup games that he’s worth keeping around training with the 1st team

Yeah, I'd prefer us to go with someone older and more proven... I think Fofana would block Rio's path somewhat...
Is Isak + Rodrygo too much to ask for?
Ive heard Gordon as possibility, too.. but I couldn't possibly see NUFC selling both.. especially to us..

We have to get a cb that we trust to play in big games. You know there will be injuries and our depth is not good at all
Posted on 7/27/25 at 11:25 am to 5 Deep
Definitely.. and that's why I think Guehi should be the main target.. With Joe's fitness record and Konate's inevitable knocks throughout the season... I think we'd hardly miss a beat if he played alongside VVD... In addition, at some point we should give Virgil a day off in the league every now and then... There will be plenty of minutes for an experienced CB..
Ideally, we would get another younger CB that can play in cup matches.. I'm not sure if we have someone ready to make the jump up from the academy or not.. Nallo hasn't looked ready to make the leap in the limited times Ive seen him.. and the jury is still out on Stephenson, as well..

The good news is that we are seemingly set at every position for the near future so next summer’s main priority can be buying our cb of the future that can take over when Virg’s time is done
Be real interesting how the Konate negotiations transpire over the next few months

Yeah.. I'd expect the next couple of windows to be relatively quiet...
We'll really need to start looking for a Mo replacement on the right... and while I like Grav, I still thinks he's more of a B2B player... I'd love us to go after Wharton at CPFC.. he'd give us the extra dimension of passing that we'll miss with TAA leaving... he has a wand of a left foot..

Thank you for your service, Luis! Would love to see him succeed at Bayern, just not in a future CL match vs Liverpool.

Gonna be interesting to see who plays on the left (besides Gakpo who I see as a spot starter/sub).

I'm hoping we can get Newcastle to bite at $125 mil + $15 mil in add ons/bonuses. Juventus entering the Nunez sweepstakes hopefully drives the price up more for Al-Hilal. As far as a new CB, I think we see Tsimikas and Robertson playing in the middle more this season. Especially the domestic cups.

Saw a report saying it will be between 130-140 including add-ons...
Incredible business, if so.

The most unLiverpool of summers ever.
I worry about team after team with massive turnover that have gone sideways. Hope Arne sorts it out

Tsimikas (or Robbo) should be on the market... no need for 3 senior LBs... none of which are CBs..
