I was watching on my phone but could anyone tell if Suarez's shot that Henderson blocked was on frame? Looked like it was going wide to me, but I was watching on a 4-inch screen

I only saw one replay on my stream, and I thought it looked like it was gonna go in.

And don't forget that beautiful string of passes from outside the box to inside with Suarez laying it off to Cou at point blank range. He hits it a couple feet to the right instead of almost straight at Hart, IIRC, there's another goal.

Oh well. Expected result, but still pleased with the effort.

Didn't Allen also have a heavy touch in the box, where it looked like he was gonna have a point blank shot?

I thought Suarez's shot was gonna go wide when it hit Hendo...

Yeah forgot about the Allen one. He did. I thought the Suarez shot was going in, but I'll need to see a replay to be sure.

I was watching Mostar's Raheem highlights and I have a question... After his miss on Suarez's cross, a city player basically took him out in a two footed challenge? Why wasn't that guy carded?

Well, it was an exciting game.

You have to like that BR went for it and played City toe to toe. That also has to give us a good bit of confidence - we just played the most talented team in league in their house, and you know their sphincters were clenched the whole time. We were unlucky to at least not get the tie and deserved at least a point. Of course, we could have given up a few more goals too.

I blame Skyrtel more than Mignolet for the second goal, he did not have to commit so early on the break and open up space in the middle behind him. And the shot was tough with a lot of spin - just unlucky in how it came off Mignolet's hand. He could have done better with it, but I don't fault him. The swerve on it was tough.

Sterling is just not consistent enough - he's making strides and playing well(and is one of our better options so we have no choice), but if we were where we want to be in terms of squad quality, he's the type of guy getting this inconsistency out while playing minutes for Swansea on loan, etc and making us drool for the future. Instead we have to live with his heavy first touches going towards goal and his lack of composure in front of the goal.

That off-sides call will piss me off for a few weeks.

I think its clear where things stand heading into the window - and while many still clamor for a DM, I'm wondering if a better option at RB may not be more pressing. I'm trying to think of the last time Johnson provided good service. It happens maybe twice a season? Otherwise his passes are easily dealt with by the defenders. Twice he tried some through balls to Suarez in the box yesterday and both times were straight at City defenders, like he was trying to pass to them. Do you not see the guy standing there? And with his defensive effort waning, its hard to not look at Flanagan and what he's done and realize that Johnson isn't cutting it.

It was a couple of weeks ago he whipped in that cross for Luis' header...

That said, I'm def on the "replace Glen" train, but I still think DM and even LB is a priority (I like Flanno, but he is nothing more than a squad player)... even RCB may have even jumped over another goal scorer for me.. I think his replacement is coming for sure this summer, maybe sooner if we can get Montoya from Barca... Move Glen to the left and buy us a little time on a LB??

Have we seen a Sakho/Toure partnership yet? I can recal...

I think this board is a bit harsh on Glen. He may be in poor form right now, but I still have confidence in him.

Thats what I was hoping for... I have been his biggest supporter over the years on this board. Maybe he needs legitimate competition?

I just think with his form, his contract up in a year, his huge wages and his claim that he will not renew his contract and wants to play overseas... all things point to the door.

I've said this time and again. The way Rodgers likes his football played we will need two A grade full backs. Ones who can overlap and play up the pitch, create width et al. But also has the dexterity to not lose the ball and get caught out of position letting the opponent break. Cisshoko lost the ball and was caught out of position for the second goal. He did the same against Arsenal. He reminds me of Djimi Traore.

We def need a new RB and LB... Slowly but surely, BR is weeding out the old guard and bringing in his own...

Stevie will be the biggest test of how big his balls are... I really hope he is ok in the next couple of years taking on a smaller role... Id hate to see him end up at another club... The only way I'd say different, is if he came to MLS... I'd actually like that a lot!

Finns erupted calling for the card. I thought it was pretty obvious. No pen because the ball was already missed, but clearly a late challenge.

How about in the first 10 minutes as well! Navas headed the ball and it clipped off the back post. Cissokho was beaten so damn badly on that one.

Besides that and the second goal, he was still meh.

THIS. Couldn't agree more.

And its also the reason Lucas's play pisses me off so much. When the fullbacks push up, Lucas should be dropping back in between the two CBs. However, he NEVER tracks back. Ever. I was screaming my arse off every time he failed to realize a man was making a run in behind him. He ball watches way too much and has shite for field awareness.

I love the guy as a person but he needs to be replaced. His head just isn't in the game.

Our biggest weakness for the past two years has been mental. Almost every time we give up a goal its just because we get lazy and don't track back.

Y'all were apparently sniffing around Lustig before he was shut down with surgery.

I wouldn't think so. Lustig is too old for the current transfer policy at Liverpool and would not be a significant upgrade over Enrique. My $0.02

As far as Lucas is concerned. He hasn't been the same player since his injury. But more importantly, Lucas was not originally a DM. Whatever he learned about that position was from Rafa and his training methods. I have a feeling his playing style is conditioned to Rafa's more tactically rigid formations. He just has never played in a role like his in a fluid formation that Rodgers demands. We need a Busquets of our own.
