Yep, I feel like we easily could have gotten out of there with a point, had one of those chances gone our way.

Sakho played pretty well in the first half but City was pressing higher in the second, which led to Sakho getting a bit panicked when he was played the ball under pressure. Not too worried though, since he hasn't looked like that since the beginning of the season.

The Sterling offside call was egregious, it looked like the phantom 3 point foul on Ray Allen from the Hawks/Heat game a few days ago. Absolutely despicable. No excuse for him missing that chance in the second though. That HAS to be finished.

I still think we'll have a good chance of beating Chelsea from what I've seen of them lately. I don't think they'll park the bus at home against us, so there should be opportunities for us to score a few, especially if we play the way we did today.

Most disappointing game of the year (outside Hull). Nothing to do with our performance either. Robbed of one goal by the ref. Couldn't finish our multitude of other chances.

Happy about our performance against the most talented team in the league but really thought that we deserved at least a point.

Kompany just said it was their toughest match in the league so far... Again, doesnt mean a whole lot in the table...

I agree, Chelsea isn't nearly as scary... 3 points would be really nice on Sunday...

Dont we have the majority of the big boys at home 2nd half of season??

Ya'll played every top 8 side but Man U on the road during the first round of games, or will have after the Chelsea game. Man City has played every other top 8 side at home except Chelsea, which they lost

Actually very happy with today. We clearly had the better chances and deserved a result. We play that way against Chelsea and we win by two.

Also, I have always liked Glen and defended him in the past... but he should be sold this summer (dont think it will happen in Jan)...

Lacks the effectiveness he used to have in the final third and cant be bothered in defense these days...

yeah, been hoping it was just a bad run of form, but now is the time to sell while he has a year left and some value on the market...

continue the youth revolution with hungry players...

Didn't get to watch the game, but saw that Cou was subbed off. Was it an injury, tactical, or saving him for Sunday?

Literally came here to post the same thing. He was definitely not injured, so it had to be tactical. Cou didn't play well in the first half, but Moses literally did nothing.

And we really missed Flannagan. Sakho was awful.

Having Flanno out hurt worse than I thought. But really any side of the field with Cissokho will kill your attack. I know TFTC thought he played well but I just can't stand him. He refuses to overlap or run to the end line. Every time he steps foot in the attacking third he stands there and waits. It drives me nuts. And he crowds out people constantly.

Not so much that I thought he played well, but I thought he was serviceable and didnt hurt us (which I feared with Navas and Zabaleta)...

I know what youre saying in attack and im sure he's playing overly cautious w/no confidence (I mean he lost his place in the LB pecking order to Flanno, a reserve team RB).. If he can build on that over the next couple games I think he can be OK..

That said i wouldnt pay anything to keep him end of season...

Nah, I've been trying to watch my booze intake... If I start drinking at 11am, there is only one way this day would end (and it wouldn't be as of yet)... I've gotta keep the holiday goodwill going with the missus...

I actually didn't drink a drop today. I would've been a good influence.

Good performance; expected result. Cissokho wasn't terrible, but frick he is a worthless player. Moses is trash. So is Aspas.

Sterling needs to keep his head up. He's played superb for a 19-year-old this month, and his performance today was solid despite the missed sitter. That shite is going to happen. Nasty bounce.

Love that Rodgers went for it.

Yeah I guess my point is that he offers absolutely nothing to the squad.

Still not ready to give up on Aspas. We'll see come January when he gets more games in the FA Cup.

I thought he played very well. And to be fair to him everyone was off in front of goal. When you think about the sheer amount of point blank misses its scary. Hendo blocking Suarez, Glen taking a touch instead of twatting it from 5 out, Sterling missing the sitter, Suarez heading wide in an uncontested header. All that considered, we still only lost by one because of a bullshite offsides.

Very happy with how today played out.
