I agree about the roles that Rodgers's system demands highly of. If anything, I think we need players with high work rates, which is why I think Fernando Reges would be a good fit at DM.

Some of the links at LB are good, but I think Enrique could be serviceable there for a while because of his speed and ability to track back and defend.

At RB, Johnson's positioning isn't bad and he enjoys getting up the field, but City showed that he's not the player he used to be. He looked lazy tracking back, and his offensive creating ability was lackluster (but I'll defend and say he's hasn't been too terrible this year, just mostly against lower table teams).

Ricardo Rodriguez, out of Wolfsburg, is one of the best young LBs in the game...

I dont think we'll be in the hunt for Shaw, one of the EPL $ teams will get him..

So he is a good option, as well as the LB from Sevilla (Moreno, I think)..

Shaw is most definitely Chelsea bound. Except if he or someone at Chelsea massively fricks up.

Good wing backs are as rare as hens' teeth. Rodriguez looks like he'd be an upgrade on what we have and would probably be willing to move too. But I haven't heard about him being on our radar at all. Which might be a good thing.

I'd rather Sakho. I like Agger in the center.

Tough match today... I gotta think we were a bit tired after this run of games, cause we weren't sharp at all...

Oh well, 6 pts out of first and 7 of the top 8 at home on the back 9...

Here's to a stellar 2014 Reds

This is the only thing keeping me from losing my mind right now.

Gotta do something about Johnson though. Possibly Skrtel as well. Dude has been giving up shite goals consistently the past few games

Johnson looks like he is barely giving any effort... That is so fricking frustrating... At least Skrtel is trying, though he needs to be upgraded...

I'm not gonna bring it up in the game thread, because I dont want it to turn into a Suarez debate, but that was a fricking penalty on Suarez by Eto'o...

It is a foul plain as day and Webb was looking right at it...

edit: If it was a yard or two over, Webb calls that a foul... he HAS to call that!

I can live with the Terry foul in the box, cause everyone mauls each other in there and it just isnt call...

Rodgers: Sakho hamstring. Allen had an injection pre-match on his adductor, pain returned

I thought Agger was serviceable as a LB. Certainly more than Cissokho.

Well, I gotta imagine he's gonna ne our LCB for a while now, since it appears Sahko's hammy is crocked...

I can't believe Kolo is still riding pine. Makes no sense at all.

We just don't have the quality as a squad

We don't have the depth

And we keep dropping like flies.

Hoping Stevie G is back to save New Year

As a reminder today - Brad freakin' Smith was our first option off the bench today.
