Mentioned that in the game thread... Brendan knows more than I, but I'm wondering why we haven't seen Assaidi yet....

Yeah, I think we all knew this. Ian Ayre is getting a lot of heat right now for it all went. And deservedly so.

He's not match-fit yet. I think he picked up a pre-season injury, and he just finished fasting for Ramadan.

Phil McNulty ?@philmcnulty
Rodgers then refused to completely dismiss the idea that he might move for Michael Owen. Intriguing press conference with Rodgers.

Yes, it does. The best part is that just a few days prior, BR was quoted as saying he would have to be "nuts" to let Carroll go, given the depth we currently have the striker position. Ayre really made him look like an arse on that one.

I know we've said it every game, but what a player Allen is... Im surprised we were the only team in for him this summer...

Maybe the price scared some off...

Pleased with the effort. It's clear that we are adapting to Rodgers' preferred play style.

Disappointed with all the giveaways from Gerrard and Suarez, and just our general performance in the final 1/3.

Sterling looks promising. He had me sweating every time he was on the ball.

Not surprised by it. The squad has obvious holes up front. Gerrard is a shade of his former self and Suarez has absolutely zero delivery to work with.

Not too great of a match. Both teams struggled in the final third. Arsenal's first goal was an awesome counter attack, but other than that, I don't think they played too well. They were the better side though. Ox was disappointing as was Giroud (lost possession the most times out if anyone in the match). Arsenal's defense was the difference for me.

You can see things taking shape and it looks good at times... But, we lack a goal scorer at the time... I think Arsenal played OK, but its not like we were dominated...

Reina has given up 2 he shouldn't have in as many games...

He's been very poor and you can tell he lacks confidence. He should have done better on the first goal and the second..was..well...

Little more from Rodgers, post-match...

quote:

He added: "It's a learning process for the owners as well. They have come into here and invested way over £100 million into the club.

"They have made a big commitment to have me here for the longer term. The owners have been very up front and very honest with me. There are one or two operational things I need to iron out, no question, but they certainly haven't misled me."

Not sure Cazorla should have scored that one. I think Giroud needs to put balls on target. His movement is good though. I agree about Ox. Not his best game.

Allen had some nice flashes too for Pool.

It's impossible to read some of the LFC message boards... The Brendan Rodgers is an idiot, bring back Kenny, FSG are another H&G threads are painful...

Im on board with the rebuild project, know it will take time and think we will improve as the season moves on... Maybe not as much as I originally thought, but it was never a quick fix... I think FSG are learning more and more about the way things work over there, every day...

Anyone throwing in the towel on Rodgers after the third league match isn't a supporter, IMO.
