Sorry, it's late. Liverpool have knocked £450k p/w off the wage bill. That was why Carroll was loaned, I would guess.
Saved over £23m a year. Add in the sales we made, and you find that every single pound was reinvested into the squad this summer through transfers or contract extensions. I am happy. The squad is built for the future.

@BenSmithBBC Was told yesterday, Brendan Rodgers only realised his £20m summer transfer budget included wages, very late on.

Not sure if this article is the gospel, but Richard Buxton is a reputable journalist...
Apparently, FSG is now searching for a new managing director after Ian Ayre botched the end of the transfer window (amongst other things)...

Good read. Just speculating, but I don't believe Ayre ever wanted Dempsey. I know Rodgers pleaded for FSG to give him the green light on him, and they acquiesced, however I don't believe that it was ever in Ian's vision. From reading the article it seems to me that Ian sort of plays by his own rules, and just does whatever the frick he wants.
Maybe I'm still trying to play the blame game, and am still a bit frustrated, but if this article is true, then I'm glad that FSG has BR's back in this.

If you believe the story that the 2 nd in command of the AFL (forget his name) has already turned us down, this was probably in the works prior to yesterday...
Like I said, I'm over it now... But that was embarrassing...

Good luck tomorrow guys. Hope for a good game with no dubious decisions favoring either side.

I'll never forget two seasons ago with the extra time PKs... Probably the most heated exchanges between LFC and AFC supporters on the SB...

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

There are a lot of good things going on with Rodgers system... I see positives... But zero goals from open play this season... This is going to be a problem all season. Hopefully it is addressed in January...
Arsenal didn't even play particularly well...

It takes time. I know it's tough to be patient. And with away at Sunderland, then at home against United it may get very hard to be patient as a fan. But it just takes time.

Per an article by Jonathan Northcroft in today's Sunday Times, the January window will be used to address our situation up front. We will be aiming to get Theo Walcott on the cheap. Also we will have the option to bring back Carroll. Apparently that is part of the loan deal. And there is an option to buy Sahin for 11m, should his loan spell work out.

We have no choice... We have no goal scorer... I will give Rodgers time, but he was done no favors this summer and the owners better know that is on them...

We knew it was going to take time. Suarez has looked off the past two games. Sure, he scored during the week, but before that he looked horrible against Hearts. Pepe has had a rough week. Hopefully he can recover.
We fricked ourselves on deadline day. Now we have to live with it. Let's hope that a young forward can step up and make a difference.
And I've always thought that shelvey and Henderson were good players. But to be honest I'd rather see shelvey on the pitch.

I sure hope we are aiming higher than that... I would love Walcott on the right wing, not so sure about him as a CF... And the boss has already said AC is not cut out for his system, but if we arent going to buy anyone else, then yes, if we can, bring him back...
Cant believe our #9 is currently vacant...

Gerrard needs to be dropped. Simple as that. He was the biggest reason for our offensive deficiency today. He lost possession 25 times, most in the squad.
LFC also needs a proper RW. Borini isn't a winger. He cant create space for himself.

Andy Hunter ?@AHunterGuardian Question to Brendan Rodgers: Would you have released Andy Carroll had you known there was no replacement coming in? Answer: No.
thought this would provide some banter for you all.

I realize this won't be a popular opinion among LFC fans, but I thought Downing looked good on the RW. At least better than Borini. Downing was a breath of fresh air. He's hungry, that much is apparent.
