Well the scan is tomorrow, no? Will be speculation until then.

Dude I'm grasping at straws here. We really don't have any other defensive mids other than Wee Jay.
The only comfort I have is everyone laughing 18 months or so ago at the thought of replacing Masch with Lucas. I'm just hoping KK can pull some sort of outside of the box solution until the transfer window opens.
Of course we still don't know for sure how bad it is.

That will work for most of the PL as they generally play with two strikers. They will need someone to step up at the DM role though. I suppose they will start with Spearing and move on from there.

Obviously I'm not saying Shelvey is anywhere near Lucas. Im just trying to be positive. A young, talented player is going to have a shot to impress.

no, also that wouldn't solve the problem. He's no DM.
Spearing certainly seems like the answer and I think he could really surprise us. He plays nowhere near his size and he's fearless. Won't be as good as Lucas, but not many are.
Can Henderson play in the more defensive role? We've seen him used out of position wide all year long so getting him back in the mid might make him more comfortable.
When he came in against Utd, he stayed very deep and centralized and broke up a lot of attacks. Don't know if that's a comfortable role for him though.

Jay gets his shot the month of December... If not convinced, I'm sure we'll address it in the January Market... There are already numerous reports of us scouting a defensive minded CM...

I know. I'm just thinking now of the general lack of fit mid-fielders.
We were over loaded with them at the start of the season.
Aqua-loaned out
Raul- sold
Gerrard - injured
Lucas - injured
Shelvey - loaned out(now recalled)
Even if Spearing shines I still think we add another versatile CM in Jan.
