Probably a dumb question but I have never bothered to take the time to look this up and know with any certainty, but when wages are broken out by week, that is still applied to a 52 wk year and not the 40 or so weeks for the season correct?

Side note: I wish we did this in the states. I think it sounds a lot cooler when discussing what the players make.

Not a dumb question at all. You are correct.

Yep just read this. If true, Spurs are gonna get him. LFC just can't afford those wages unless Cole and Aquilani are off the payroll.

I still find this whole situation odd. Either Tottenham have a manager in line or they think Gylfi is the next big star. To bid on players you aren't sure will fit into the manager's scheme is pretty bold. I'll reserve judgement until either team makes it official.

Gerrard's contract expires at the end of next season. I know he's said he will retire at the end of his contract at age 33, so that will free up £140k.

I read or heard on a podcast somewhere that Modric is only on about 60k/week at Spurs.

Supposedly, Spurs wage structure is capped at 70k/week by Levy... Thats why I was surprised that was the # he was asking for...

I'm sure we were down around 25-25, maybe they doubled...

Honestly, Ive heard the same ol' rumors of who we are in for (none that make you excited), but he is the only one I actually believed we were going to get in...

I absolutely have no clue who we are actually looking at now...

We spent most of our time in Reykjavik. Rented a car and drove all over the southwestern region of the island. I've been to well over a dozen countries and agree that it's the most beautiful in the world.
