It's really a shame. What a great fricking goal, but I'll only remember this match for them choking on a 2 goal lead with 15 goddamn minutes left.

A European cup, another European final, and if I remember correctly our highest point total ever in the Prem (or maybe it was 2nd highest).

I think his history is pretty good.

In light of the Dalglish discussion y'all were having...a nice article about the topic:

LINK

Thanks for linking that article. Probably right on as far as expectations being slightly high but I'd also say that where criticism is given concerning the transfer market, perhaps more is deserved.

Liverpool fans would probably not be that disappointed if there were similar results but 8 or so new players who were young and making mistakes but also showing signs of developing into top level stars. My personal criticism would be that for the amount of money spent, that was more than possible.

How much is KK responsible for those market decisions?

On another note, my favorite part of the article is this:

"If Dalglish is guilty of being a romantic and placing greater store on the glory of silverware than on the accounting details of league placement then that, frankly, is a good thing – not just for Liverpool but for all of football. Having seen access to the upper echelons denied them by the advent of the Champions League and the culture of the rich getting richer, the majority of clubs have also been led into believing the trophies they do still have a chance of winning. . . don’t matter any more."
"There are few things that highlight the lack of romance in the modern game so depressingly as pedestrian mid-table clubs fielding sub-strength teams in the cups."

it was a joke....

with all the excusing of Dalglish because he's such a legend and he has all this "history" with the club... it was just sarcasm...

Well hell I made plans for Boston because I heard they'd be there. May have to change up flights.

I have to imagine they are going to play a few games, and I have to think John Henry has Boston in the plans...

If anyone else has a LFCTV account log and watch the Coates goal in 6 different views. Such crazy technique from a defender. I guess its the South American in him

He should really take his time in recovery. I hope they take all precautions to ensure that he is OK before they let him back on to the pitch. No sense in rushing him back early. Let him take the rest of the year off. Probably all next season off as well. Just to be safe.

Also good read on r/liverpoolfc about the "long haul" and FSG's plans. Puts things in perspective.

As much as I'm sure you hate to admit this, he is playing better as of late. Of course when you start at zero and move up to 3 or 4 you're still pretty bad, but it is encouraging.
