I just want both of these players to retire. I’m completely worn out on them dominating world football news.

They’ve had their time in the sun, now move along gracefully.

What a shame, I mean I wouldn't turn down that kind of money either but he's going to be miserable just like CR7.

Do they even have that there? Guess the Saudi league is giving MLS a run for its money on washed-up international talent.

MLS’s model thrives on young South American talent rather than aging euros. You’ve got a few outliers (Douglas Costa for example) but really they’ve moved away from the has beens, for the better.

He will sign an insane contract with the Saudis and then be miserable the entire time he is there, much like Ronaldo

Would love to be miserable for a few years and $400m.

He’s still the best player in the world so I would hate to see him leave for that league.

Would love to see him join Tottenham and win them the league so I can watch the English media and SAF commit mass suicide on live tv

Don’t be dense. You know experienced vets make more than less experienced, up and coming players.

Yea that doesn’t argue against the point MLS still has its fair share of older players from Europe who make way tooo much

1 Lorenzo Insigne
2 Xherdan Shaqiri
3 Federico Bernardeschi
4 Chicharito
5 Héctor Herrera
6 Facundo Torres
7 Christian Benteke
8 Carlos Vela
9 Luiz Araujo
10 Lucas Zelarayan

Yep definitely going away from the model of getting away from older has beens

Here’s last season

Lorenzo Insigne
(Toronto FC)
Xherdan Shaqiri
(Chicago Fire)
Javier Hernández
(LA Galaxy)
Gonzalo Higuaín
(Inter Miami CF)
Héctor Herrera
(Houston Dynamo)
Christian Benteke
(D.C. United)
Alejandro Pozuelo
(Inter Miami CF)
Josef Martínez
(Atlanta United)
Jozy Altidore
(New England Revolution)
Luiz Araújo
(Atlanta United)

And 2021

Carlos Vela (LAFC) - $6,300,000
Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez (LA Galaxy) - $6,000,000
Gonzalo Higuain (Inter Miami) - $5,793,750
Alejandro Pozuelo (Toronto FC) - $4,693,000
Luiz Araujo (Atlanta United) - $3,941,667
Josef Martinez (Atlanta United) - $3,891,667
Jozy Altidore (Toronto FC) - $3,602,250
Rodolfo Pizarro (Inter Miami) - $3,350,000
Maxi Moralez (NYCFC) - $3,285,000
Victor Wanyama (CF Montreal) - $3,091,667

As much as we all enjoy MLS getting good cheaper young SA talent to develop and sell on. Don’t push a narrative that MLS has moved on from the retirement or overpaying older players coming from better leagues.

May 12 (Reuters) - Lionel Messi will start Paris St Germain's Ligue 1 home game against AC Ajaccio on Saturday after returning to training following a club-imposed suspension, coach Christophe Galtier said on Friday.

"I spoke with him on Tuesday to see what his mindset was and I found him very determined to play... He will start tomorrow," Galtier told a press conference.

Messi was back in training on Monday after being suspended for making an unauthorised trip to Saudi Arabia and missing a training session as a result.

French media reported that Messi was suspended for two weeks after making the trip when he was supposed to train with the squad the day after the Ligue 1 leaders' 3-1 defeat to Lorient last month.

Messi apologised to PSG and his team mates last Friday and was left out of the squad for their 3-1 win at second-bottom Troyes two days later.

PSG are six points clear of Lens and eight in front of third-placed Olympique de Marseille with four games remaining this season.
