Looking forward to both matches a ton. Does anyone think that Italy has a shot against Germany? They just don't seem to be playing terribly well right now IMO. I truly think that Spain/Portugal could go either way but I just don't see Italy pulling out a "W."

Germany vs Spain final (I know, going out on a limb).

Germany wins it

That's what I'm expecting. But it would definitely surprise me more if Italy were to advance than if Portugal were to go.

Yes. I think Schweiny will be limited again by his damaged ligaments.

Italy has to finish well and Germany finishing has to be off, but I think it could be a competitive game.

I hope Ronaldo leads Portugal to victory, but they need great counters and defending from the back line.

I guess I will stick with my pre-tourney prediction of Germany over Spain. Yeah, I know I am original.

no not really.

I don't think they've played that well the entire tournament.

agreed. Spain are not as good as they were when they won the WC imho.

Any game Spain is in is going to be a total bore fest, especially if they score first so that semi will blow. Hopefully CRon puts in a hat trick in the first half so Spain has to actually do something aside from pass it sideways and backwards all day.

Italians will put up a good fight against the Germans/Turks/Poles/Ghanaians/Algerians but I don't think they have the clinical finishers to take the few chances they will create. Buffon will have to dominate but I think Germany will eventually pull it out 1-0.

I had the same injury as Schweinsteiger and it took me like 5 months for my ankle to be pain free and it still looks a little swollen. He came back from his injury too soon because Bayern sucks without him and it fricked his recovery.

He may have to sit out on Thursday but I hope he's able to go. Italy is always going to be a tough nut to crack so anyone expecting a blowout is being a little too naive here, IMO.

With the way Ronaldo has looked the last two games, I think Portugal has a shot. But last time they played in a big game, Portugal was almost as passive as the French.

I think Germany-Italy could shape up to be like Germany-Portugal in the group stage. Germany doesn't look untouchable, but they are able to mostly control the game and fend off the counters. Ozil does what he does and Gomez gets 1, maybe 2.

Spain-Portugal might be a bit more exciting. Ronaldo could make them pay if they screw around and sit on it in the midfield like they have done all tournament. Fabregas and especially Torres could have serious trouble with Portugal's back line if the game is even and they need to score. I could see this one going more than 90 minutes.

Note to fellow xbox pro club members: sorry for lack of mic and accidentally knocking my own teammates off the ball. Left my mic in BR this summer and actually ordered one off ebay because I've been meaning to get one anyway.

Germany should finally beat Italy but despite the gap in quality of play and Italian injuries/suspensions, many Germans are scared.

The Iberian battle will interesting and hopefully fun. Would like to see Llorente play.
