Jimmy Conrad: Michael Bradley was a “super alpha male know-it-all”

Also says he should be kept away from the team at this point. Apparently it’s from his new podcast.

This would explain why we always looked like we had no idea what the hell we were doing in WCQ.
Father and son Bradley TYFYS, now goodbye.

"I don't think we should be playing any of our older players from here on out...Michael Bradley, for me, should absolutely not be involved with the team from here on out. He's done his service, thank you very much, you've had a great career for the national team, you've had over 100 caps, but the guy is, and I'm being completely frank here with everybody, he's a super alpha male know-it-all and we don't need that vibe in the team anymore. Plus, we need the younger players to solve these problems on their own so that new leaders can emerge from this younger group. As opposed to them always deferring to the other guys."
"If he came into the team, then everybody would be like 'Michael was the leader'....when you have those types of [alpha male] personalities, they're filling the void and then some...so none of the other guys can step up or feel appropriate or feel comfortable in stepping up and saying something."
"I remember I had a former defender who played in the 2014 World Cup with the US, came up to me and was like 'I don't know how to talk to Michael Bradley during a game, can you help me figure out things I can say to him that's going to get his attention'...that's a problem, because if you have your leaders that aren't listening to their teammates...that's a big problem and I'm sure we can dissect what that means in the bigger picture why we didn't qualify if our captain isn't being someone that is open to his teammates and being able to listen."

So clearly Conradinho posts here. Which poster do we think he is?

Reddit loves shitting all over Michael Bradley, it’s their schtick. Regardless, the guy will go down as one of the best midfielders we have ever had. He hit his prime around 26 and sadly went down hill since then. I think it was a combo of running his arse off continuously since the age of 16 and also a lack of form with moving back to MLS. That said, I want someone who leads with authority in the lockerroom. It’s actually a desired trait in a captain, and I’m not sure why Conrad (who I admire tbh) can’t see that. I still think Bradley deserves a place in the locker room, because at this point he is still one of our better midfielders and can provide veteran leadership to the kids on the team. Hopefully we have several of the young guns step up and lead by command or by example, because we certainly had a paucity of this in Bradley’s group (and really the current crop of 24-32, Will Trapp excluded), which combined with a dearth of talent and terrible coaching played a big part in our qualification failure.

Also, I would bet that defender was Omar Gonzalez

Omar should've tried speaking to MB in English then.

I think it's Besler.
He played with Conrad and, IIRC, in the ESPN doc leading up to the World Cup, Besler was the one that talking about how much he revered Bradley even though he was older than him.

If I was anyone, I'd clearly be Jovan Kirovski or Ante Razov.

for about 5-10 years. then i'll bet some of these new young bloods will have us saying michael who?
I will always remember him as the captain of one of the biggest failures of the USMNT in my lifetime. Michael Bradley TYFYS...now frick off.

I don't see a problem with being "super-alpha." Kind of a dumb argument, unless he was just a terrible communicator, but that has nothing to do with being a "super-alpha."
I'm ready to move on from MB. Sadly, he's been our best player at that position for nearly 10 years. It's painful that we don't have someone better, because he just doesn't have "it", especially in the biggest tournament. He certainly had some brilliant moments outside of the World Cup, but I want us to at least make it back to the quarter-finals again, and we need somebody better than Bradley at that position to do it.
