There are no timeouts, dude. The coach can't call a timeout and draw up some hail mary play.
Again, you have 90 some odd minutes to be better than your opponent. The only team that ever bitches about extra time is the losing team. Is that really the side you want to be on?

You have watched too much CONCACAF Champions League to argue otherwise
It's a pretty neutral thing 99.9% of the time. Occasionally, it shits on the team trying to waste time. Ultimately, it's probably a good thing that teams can't meticulously count the seconds added on at the end of the game

All I'm saying is it makes sense that if during the 90 minutes of play if there was 4:46 of stoppage. Why not put 4:46 on the clock instead of 4:00 or 5:00 or whatever the head ref feels like?

That's not even how it works. The ref has a stop watch. Every time play stops, the ref stops his watch. Every time it restarts, he starts his watch. He blows the whistle when it hits 45 minutes for each half. What you see on your TV may or may not even be correct.

Well there's a novel idea. Maybe someone could have made that clear from the get go. My apologies for assuming what was moved to the screen was the exact time.
Is the exact time displayed on the scoreboard in the stadium?

I don't remember if it was the Sounders, but I remember a Canadian ref looking very satisfied with the way he officiated the game when an MLS team equalized against one of the Costa Rican teams (maybe, could have been any of the non-Mexican teams)

Do the players and coaches have an idea of how much time is left? I know the announcers are left guessing most of the time.

If you're down 2-1, and you see there is 4 extra minutes and and the clock is at 93:30, you may not know how much time is left but you know you don't have much time left and if you're on defense, you know the whistle isn't going to be blown until you clear the ball out of the area so it's not really important how many exact seconds are left.
