We're looking at 2020 being the possible world cup year. So...

Were none of y'all alive in 1994? There were World Cup games played in the Pontiac Silverdome (put in grass for that event) and old Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ which had turf prior to the World Cup.

Soldier Field was dropped from the original bid. Most likely it'll be in Pasadena like in '94.

You do realize the turf isn't permanent. It's not that hard to remove and lay sod down. Besides Seattle is one of, if not the most soccer friendly cities in the country. Every game there would likely sell out.

I know Seattle loves soccer, and no where did I say it couldn't be done. I'd love to see a US World Cup game in CenturyLink.

New Orleans would be a cool place for crazy soccer fans. Why wouldn't the Superdome be a good site?

Bad sight lines because of its layout. Not to mention the redesign of the plaza level made it even worse or impossible iirc.
