If by some chance this happens, Atlanta's new Falcons stadium will be a fantastic venue for a World Cup match instead of the Georgia Dome. They're building it with international soccer and the new MLS franchise in mind.

Reliant would be a madhouse and a tough ticket get for the ages. All of those venues wouldn't be used though right??? How many different venues are being used this year? 9?

Thank God UGA said no to tearing up the hedges a second time. I assume the new ATL MLS team will be playing at the new GA Dome as well?

I don't think Baton Rouge has a good enough transportation system for that.

I'm guesstimating around 65K-75K... same range as the typical NFL stadium here in the States
ETA: when originally built for the 1950 World Cup... Estadio do Maracana held around 200,000... it was lessened to around 79K today.

Orlando would go to Miami swap Detroit with Philly. Then add Seattle, Denver and Atlanta.

Were most of them existing structures or built specifically for the WC? I'm guessing existing structures. If you can't tell I know jack shite about soccer.
