next year? If not, to what league do you see him going?

I'd say he would stay. Try to workout the transition during the off season and have a better year next year.

Why is one in parentheses?

Also, depends on what happens with Sunderland's better forwards. If they move, they'll probably be forced to keep him. That said, he'll probably have a better year due to the Championship being his level.

ETA: Also, why are you so obsessed with American strikers?

because i pull for the USMNT and strikers are important for scoring goals. That's why I am concerned about them.

So are midfielders, but you're not starting a thread every couple days about them.

i'm glad someone else noticed this. i made a post about it the other day in one of his threads and got no reply. i think at that point he'd made five threads about american strikers in the last 7 days.

So you're saying that I should start a "american strikers" thread to cover all news regarding those players? Wasn't aware that you were forced to open the threads that I start. If you don't like to read them, make one less click next time you log in.

if people thinks the service he gets now is bad o hell just wait. Also throw in some of those park the bus tactics you see in lower levels.

I'm not sure I've ever heard as much talk about a striker and his service as I have with Jozy. Please let him get somewhere with a couple decent midfielders.

I think he's done in Sunderland after this season.

It doesn't matter who they play up top, they still suck.

Johnson only scores so much because he doesn't ever pass the ball. Jozy should be so selfish.

He has a couple of decent midfielders. Jozy's just lazy.

I don't know if he's lazy. I do think he has suffered in confidence. I think Adam Johnson is their top scorer and he has all of 10 goals (without checking) with most of those coming out of him driving the ball halfway down the pitch, taking matters into his own feet.

Jozy's service has been terrible. I've watched a decent amount of Sunderland games and he's been wideopen in the box several times for an easy pass and they don't even look at him. This is not to mention just normal service that could provide him with more chance.

On the flip side of that - he sometimes seems to ball watch instead of making runs - I don't know enough to know if that lack of movement is to hold a defender someplace for someone else or what.

Jozy has set up several goals with excellent hold up play.

Jozy is also just not going to create enough of his own chances in the EPL. Especially with the service he gets.

All of this spells MLS next season. He could try to continue his Euro dream, or like Bradly, get paid double to come be a force in MLS.

Jozy works best with people running off of him. He's a target striker who is best suited to a 4-4-2, which is really what Sunderland should be playing, imo. He was great with Charlie Davies for that reason. He has a great mind for quick passes/movement and is surprisingly good at this in tight spaces. Just put Borini and Jozy up top together and see what happens.

In my mind, Poyet is not the greatest tactician. I mean ffs, Giaccherini doesn't even sniff the field, and he could really provide a creative impetus in the midfield/forward for Sunderland. Maybe he's not as good as I think he is, but come on, this guy was playing for Italy in the Confederations Cup just this past Summer, and suddenly he isn't even good enough to get minutes off the bench for fricking Sunderland?

Couldn't agree more. Watching him ball-watch is so frustrating, but then again when he does make the runs no one passes it to him.

Watching Sunderland is so painful though. It might actually be more painful than watching Hull when he was with them, and that is really saying something.

At AZ Jozy had three things working in his favor:
1. A midfield that could provide him with service
2. Competent teammates
3. Forwards who made runs off of him
Jozy at AZ

If the other strikers for Sunderland were lighting it up I could see us putting more blame on Jozy. That said, I've watched the majority of Sunderland's matches this season and by far the biggest problem is his teammates not passing it to him when he gets into position. It makes me rage so hard.

Thats also a very strong point in favor it if not being all Jozy's fault. Its not like he's started every game and no one else has had a chance to put a few in.

Really, without looking it up, I'd have to guess their best two scorers this year (all comps) would be Johnson and Borini, and both come from out wide.

I do agree with you that a 4-4-2 with Borini up top would likely be a better formation for them. Though I don't know if they have enough midfield stature to only have two in the middle.
