Eriksen was a steal. But lots of misses. Chadli has shown great flashes, and Lamela is still showing some promise.

It was unfair to expect all 7 of them to make huge impacts but if they had collectively done better Spurs would have been a perennial top 4 team for the forseeable future

Soldado and Lamela both make more than Eriksen.

I still have high hopes for Lamela. His English is improving a ton, and I think he is starting to feel comfortable at Spurs.

Lamela was always going to be a longer term project and a risk since his price tag reflects the skills to be one of the top handful of players in the game if it ever clicks mentally.

However, I don't think many realized how much of a "project" he actually was since I kept hearing comments from many EPL fans about how great he'd been at Roma etc etc.
That was hardly the case. Roma sold him since there was too much pressure to win right away to let him start through growing pains considering his wage demands/price tag.

Roma fans really liked him a lot and he would certainly woo with some outrageous display of skill every couple of matches.

However, he really only had one brief spell, a couple of months under Zeman (with Totti playing absolutely out of his mind), where he scored quite a few goals in consecutive matches while the team was actually struggling mightily during that time. People read that as him finally breaking out, but watching every match, it seemed more due to the crazy attacking tactics and Totti picking him out with perfect through balls 5 times a match.

I think he's going to eventually be a great player but also wouldn't be surprised if it still takes a couple more seasons of slow improvement in simply reading the game.

Meh. This year was a bit rough, but the highlight of taking it to Chelsea made up for a lot of the bad.

Not to mention beating Arsenal.

God they overpaid for a lot of those players. The criticism for Levy should be a lot more vocal, given how people have been so critical of Liverpool misusing their Suarez windfall.

Spurs should sell all those guys for a big, pacey, left-footed winger who can score goals and drill free kicks.

Technically he (SCH) would have a point.

Good chance we do it all over again this summer with Sterling money.

We shall see.
