Someone should explain offside and why it doesn't need to be changed.
We should have links to score sites and sites like Zonal Marking. We should have links to articles on Wiki which can answer people's questions.

just a thought but I think it'd be better if the terms/lingo section was organized by the actual name of a player/team and then followed by both a description and then a listing of nicknames
Because it'd probably be easier for a new player to find who and what they're talking about that way.

I like it this way because people can find the term/name they may not be familiar with on the board on here. If they are watching the World Cup, chances are they know what the player's real name is because the announcers will say it.

Hey, the OP is too long for the website, so I'm putting some of the stuff into this post as a place holder. The real thread will have the sections divided into separate posts.

La Liga: Spanish league. Once a two-team league of Real Madrid and FC Barcelona, Atletico Madrid have challenged for the title this season and may break up the duopoly.
EPL: English Premier League. Contains teams like Man United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham, Everton and new league champions Man City.
Bundesliga: German league. Normally topped by Bayern Munich.

Love it. Can we get a moratorium on threads about "how the US would dominate soccer if our best athletes played". They don't, as cool as it would be, it's not happening. Yet..

I can maybe do a link guide, but what are some questions that newbies will ask? Links to leagues, the CL, the PL, formations, positions, etc. can be done, but what else?

Goal line technology will undoubtedly be brought up at some point. Perhaps a brief explanation under the FAQ section.

I would just put Mexico: frick Mexico.
Something about having to brave central American shitholes and fields not worthy of high school soccer.
Definitely need to add some more history here, how we've gotten piss bags, puke, and batteries bombarded at us and how going there as a fan is one of the most brave things you can do for your country. Include a link to the interview where Andrew Luck mentions that he's been to Azteca to see the US play. Worth mentioning that we beat them for the first time ever in Mexico rather recently and got our first point in Mexico for almost 20 years this past cycle with the 0-0 draw.
