Sporting KC is my #1 club. My hometown team, didn't really start going to games until last season really but got to go to MLS Cup with one of my friends who plays for SKC. That game was one of the best sports moments of my life. Nowadays I'm a member of the Cauldron and have been to most of the games this year.
I started following Chelsea after the 2010 WC because of Didier Drogba and I have followed them ever since.
I have taken a liking to Roma in recent times as well. I started out watching them because of Michael Bradley and ended up watching most of their games in the past season. Miralem Pjanic is one of my favorite players as well.
I am going to try to follow La Liga more as well and I would say my favorite team in Spain is Atleti but I haven't really watched a whole lot outside of the 2 Madrid teams and Barcelona.
If Matt Besler goes to Germany or England I will start following his team as well.

My brother arbitrarily chose to be a Tottenham fan and he follows them very closely.
I kinda tried to be a Tottenham fan as well, just cause my brother is a fan, and I fricking love Gareth Bale.
I somewhat follow them now but it is just really hard for me to actually give a shite what happens to them game-to-game. When Atlanta gets an MLS team, I'll be a big fan.

When I first really got into club soccer around 2004-ish, Ronaldinho was just on the cusp of reaching his peak so I gravitated to Barcelona. A couple years later, I decided to really follow the EPL. I already had a unhealthy hatred for Man U so I went with City – it also helped that they had Reyna and, later, Beasley.
Now, when I tell people that I'm a City & Barca fan, I get disgusted looks.

I was watching 2000 champions league match between Leeds and Barca the other day. That squad was nasty... de Boer, Rivaldo, Kluivert... beat us 4-0.

DC United because I am from the region but more so because a good friend is a backup GK there. (He is the reason why I quit playing soccer, never could surpass him), as an aside he was also recruited as a D1 WR in HS.
I also follow Liverpool solely because I liked Carragher.

Saw Sunderland survive in late season 2013.
Newcastle fan(s) seem like douche bags (not the ll guy)
Sunderland has a cool surfing pier which earns HUGE points for any area in my book.
Nobody will ever accuse me of bandwagoning.
Jozy moving there a huge plus.
Started following closely and actually got upset when they lost(and lost.... And lost) so it seemed like something had genuinely stuck. The great escape absolutely sealed it for me. Sunderland till I die now.
Personally I'd rather be a fan of a team fighting for every spot they can get on the table than bitching about what 30M pound transfer "sucks" but to each their own. I feel like a large portion of the fanbase of both teams nearest my heart (saints and lsu) have become rather spoiled over the last decade which takes some of the fun out rooting for a team. But since hardly any of us were born into this sport, I'm sure as hell not going to judge who should be a fan of which club. Although I may feign disdain at Newcastle fans in retaliation for the fake hatred of the scores of mackems they encounter on a daily basis.

I root for Fiorentina. I spent a semester in Florence and went to a couple of games and have followed them ever since.

I was looking for a 4 and a half star team, so as not to appear like a bandwagoner, but I wanted one that could compete with the big boys, virtually.
