We did buy about 150,000 total tickets, I believe. Obviously there are repeats and people who aren't going to watch the USA, but we should dominate the stadium.

Which would be to many for all US matches. So clearly people are going to other games. Many of my friends have already been to a game.

Having 10-15k is pretty much dominating a stadium in the WC when you are that far from home. Attendance figures are highly dependent on the locals.

Also take into account people who live in the states from other countries going to brazil. Some Dutch guy drove all the way from San Francisco

This is what makes the OP's statement possible. A US-Mexico WC match at Azteca would have the ticket demand of the Super Bowl. It wouldn't be a question of who wanted to go, but who could pay the most.

Locals get the first chance/cheaper.

A Mexican WC game in Mexico is dominated by Mexicans regardless of popularity in the states.

Yup don't know how many times this has to be explained to people.

The WC highly depends on the locals not the traveling fans esp when its for games less in demand. We could be lucky as frick to get 20k in the Azteca for a WC final vs Mexico and it would be a security nightmare.

There are plenty of rich Mexicans. We wouldn't have a prayer of filling Azteca if we're playing Mexico.

Fair enough. Anybody know how many Mexicans were in Natal yesterday? Can we beat that?

No clue but they travel well to every world cup b/c their upper middle class is pretty wealthy.

Its great to see our fans traveling so much even if its not the US games. Traveling for sporting events is really not in the American culture let alone getting out and seeing the world.

Best example is Australia they had 15k fans last night even though they are the worst ranked team in the WC. But this is part of not just their sports culture but their culture in general. Most Aussies in their mid 20's go see the world before coming home and settling down.

Attendance was 39 k yesterday and about 75% Mexican.

I haven't seen nearly the amount of USA fans here so far but they nah not be arriving just yet.

Also many Mexicans I talked to are from the states and are going to both games and rooting for both Mexico and us.

To answer your question...yes we will outnumber Ghana but nothing ridiculous like half the stadium. There will obviously be more Brazilians than anyone so it all depends on who they side with.

One USA fan/blogger who was at the game guessed 33,000. Apparently Mexicans are everywhere in Brazil

I don't know which is more absurd someone thinking we will have 25k in the stands tomorrow or thinking we would get 40k into Azteca in the reasonably near future.
