Emenike didn't foul there. What a boss. Let's see what his transfer value is after this tournament.

He's looking as good today as he was terrible against Iran.

Now that one was a foul on Emenike.

Yeah for real... I mean imagine if Bosnia loses 1-0 and are eliminated from the tourney... they just have to accept the fact that the ref made a bad call, which forced them out of the tourney?

Yes

ETA: or they can blame the own goal, or their inability to finish. It's not the first time someone has gotten screwed over a bad call.

Exactly it would take another ref in the booth, but the stoppage in play wouldn't be any longer than it would if the player had scored, the ref had to give a card, or if there were an injury. It's laughable that we have the technology to give what is fair but choose not to.

Right on. This is my only real "improvement" for soccer. Can just do it for goals as well.

It should have counted. Just a bad call.

Yeah he is. Did they start with 5 backs or did they switch to that because of the abuse he was taking?

well with the little bit of knowledge of soccer that i have, it seems like offsides is one of only like 5 "fouls" that they have. seems like they could review that shite.

Even when they have the technology to make the correct call in under a minute? All they need to do is have a ref in a booth or somewhere and show him the same thing we get to see on TV. Would take 30seconds to get it correct.

I understand that human error is part of ALL sports. And Im not saying review all fouls or anything like that. Just have an officla in a booth that gets to see what we see on TV. Thats it. Most other calls are judgement calls. Being on or off isnt really a judgement call. Its pretty straight forward and typically is an easy to call to make for the most part. Calling someone offsides when they are blatantly onsides, like Dzeko was, should never happen.

And im not bitching just because its Bosnia or whatever. Its crap if it happened to any team. And their inability to finish? They did finish and scored and had it taken away.

i will say, these two teams styles are way different than the italy/costa rica game, which to relate it to basketball, seemed like both teams were running a full court press

Official who missed the call shouldn't worry. People from Bosnia don't hold a grudge.

Spahic has been an absolute bombscare tonight.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Ibisevic come on at halftime. Bosnia will get a goal tonight.

They reduce the linesman to sometimes make a judgment call if it's close, when we can see definitively whether a player is off or not. Also it is often difficult to see both the ball and the player at the same time. The flag came up late so he was obviously conflicted about it. Why put it all on the linesman in 2014?

I would put Ibisevic on right now. I dont get why they dont run a 4-3-1-2 with Ibisevic and Dzeko up front with Pjanic feeding them the ball. Or Misimovic there and Pjanic in the midfield.
