Less than an hour from kickoff and I didn't see a thread, so I went ahead and started this.

For those that don't know, Landon's African Bitch is Algeria.

I'm anxious to see Belgium play they should be exciting to watch. 4-0 wouldn't surprise me.

I'm not going to have internet starting around 6:30, so I wouldn't be able to update the score in the OP.

The hun bastard who tried to murder Deuce is captain for Algeria.

This 'ITV on the beach' thing is cringe-worthy.

I kinda like Algeria to keep this close. They don't concede a lot of goals and they are fit and athletic.

Belgium has all the pressure (golden generation, high expectations, etc)...

1-0 Belgium.

Van Nistelrooy said in the pre-match that their subs could beat Algeria

I agree it was just funny to hear him be so matter of fact

The Belgium hype has gotten a bit out of control.

That's a good lineup, but it's not like there are no issues (Dembele's not even remotely the same player he was a year or two ago, no fullbacks, etc.).

There are a lot of teams that I think have a much more legitimate shot of winning the WC than Belgium. I mean there are some obvious ones (Brazil, Germany, Italy, etc.), but I would take a team like France over them and it's not even like I'd have to give that much thought.

I have to concur. I think they will struggle to qualify for the knockout rounds. Russia and Korea aren't pushovers, either.

Nacer Chadli is one of those rare guys who can be in horrible form for club (Spurs) and phenomenal form for country.

His starting spot us virtually untouchable. I won't be surprised if he scores today.

Watching guys like him and Paulinho perform at this level just pisses me off. Spurs has wasted so much talent.

I kind of like the Algerian anthem, but yeah it's very Disneyland Paris.

And obviously with three Spurs starters, this is my favorite team besides the U.S.
